In the middle of a great obligatory family tour, we have 3-4 days where we can go off and do something fun somewhere in America. Somewhere not too far away from Philadelphia would be good. We were thinking NYC, but is there anyway to do this on a SERIOUS budget? And if not, where else should we go? Criteria within.

Baby-product-that-surely-exists filter: A couple friends have just had babies, and a couple more friends are about to do the same thing. I live in Philadelphia; they live all over the country. Therefore, I'm trying to find a onesie or something similar with "LOVE " on the front, a la the
Robert Indiana sculpture in Love Park (I know there are many other LOVE sculptures, but I still feel like it says Philly and I know it says love, which has got to be good). My Google-fu is sucking today - help!

Philly filter: Is my gas bill too high and/or is my landlord shady? We get charged a ton for "indirect" charges by a non-PGW company and must write our checks payable to the landlord, not the utility. I also pay the same amount every month, and am
not enrolled in some budget plan that makes the amount due the same each month. Several residents (me included) think this is some sort of way for the landlord to rip us off.

My wife and baby daughter will be going to Philadelphia in two weeks. We need to go to the Children's Hospital. Where do you recommend we stay, and what types of things should we do. I know nothing about Philadelphia, so I have no idea if it is walking and stroller friendly. We would just like to do some shopping, eating, sightseeing etc. We will be carting around a 7 month old girl. Help us have a good time in the city of brotherly love.

Many years ago, late one night in Philadelphia, I heard a cover of the Maple Leaf Rag that stunned me. I never found the artist, nor have I ever heard it again. I'm hoping the hivemind can help. It started out the traditional piano version, and then there was a pause... and it turned into a guitar rock version. I heard it on WMMR at about 1:30 AM in the late 1980s. HAs anyone ever heard of anything like it, and if so, who was the artist?

Anyone else in the Philadelphia area seeing this? There are some strange, vertical clouds in the area that look a lot like aurorae (it's well into darkness here), but they aren't moving. They look like they might be high-altitude noctilucent clouds, but I think it's the wrong time of year for those. What are they? I've never seen anything like them.

Conshohocken, PA had a massive fire today at the Riverwalk Millenium Apartment/Condos. Luckily, from what we've seen there were no serious injuries, but the buildings look like they are a complete loss.
Friends were supposed to move in to one of the new apartments next week, and are now trying to find a similar living situation to get into by September. One will be working in Philly, the other in Bryn Mawr, they don't really know the area that well, and can't get back to PA until next week. They sort of fell into this lease because of a lucky coincidence, and need some help figuring out where else to look that would be similarly convenient, new and clean. $1500 per month would be the maximum they could afford for a one bedroom. Thanks for any help
