On Thanksgiving Wednesday, we'll arrive at the Philadelphia airport, probably at terminal F (US Airways) at 8:15 in the morning. We leave 80 minutes later, probably from terminal B (US Airways, again). No checked luggage, pre-cleared for customs, just pick up bags and run. Given Thanksgiving craziness and picking up the shuttle to C-16 so we stay inside security, is this still doable? When does it become Thanksgiving hectic? [more inside]
I'm going into my last year of nurse practitioner school and am starting clinicals at the end of August. Back in June I found two clinical sites, both family practice. A couple days ago I was told that one of the sites wouldn't be able to host me after all. [more inside]

I need to go to the Philadelphia Passport Agency on Friday morning. The state dept website assures me there are several pay parking lots in the vicinity. But I'd prefer more concrete directions, as I'm driving in from 3 hrs away for an 8am appointment. Can anyone give me recommendations and addresses of lots or garages that are very likely to be open that are nearby? Where I can park all day? The address is 200 Chestnut St. [more inside]

Trying to book a group shave/trim for a bearded wedding party this Sunday in Philadelphia. The only place that appears to be open that day is Art of Shaving and they're booked for the time we need. Any recommendations on places to try? We've researched so far and can't find anything open then. If there are any salons that do this service as well we'd be interested although hoping to keep it less than 50-60 a person. Thanks!
I'm bringing a car to Omaha in very late June, early July. Dates are flexible. We're planning to take 2-3 days of driving split between two people. What are the best routes in terms of scenery and attractions to do overnight along the way? We are staying for about a week and flying back one-way to PHL. Ideas for what to do in Omaha are also needed. At least some of the activities in or around Omaha should be suitable for people under 21, although they don't all have to be. Museums, parks, sciency stuff, and hotel and restaurant recommendations all welcome. Assume an upper limit of $200 per person per day for 2-3 people, although this is fairly flexible both directions.

Fiance and I are attempting to plan a wedding for less than 150 guests in early March 2015 in the Philadelphia area. We currently live in Montgomery county, but we are open to considering locations in the 5 county area (and are learning toward Philadelphia, which will make things easier on our out of town guests). We want to keep the venue/catering/booze costs around $15,000 if possible, which seemed super easy before we started searching. Help! [more inside]

For reasons related to an interest in playwriting, I want to volunteer for Philly theater companies. I'll do anything as long as it is related to the theater and in the company of other theater folks. THE BIG CHALLENGE: I'm a wheelchair user. What is the best way to approach this looking-for-volunteer work situation?
My GF is running her first-ever marathon next weekend in Philadelphia. I'm looking for creative or interesting suggestions for either a gift or something I can do that she might like (beyond flowers at the finish and a massage, both of which are a done deal). Any runners out there have a specific suggestion--maybe something sweet or thoughtful that was done for you after you finished? Thanks!
I'm planning a road trip from Philadelphia to Toronto in October. I'm thinking of breaking up the trip by staying a night somewhere in between. Somewhere with a cute hotel, a nice breakfast and somewhere to wander around before taking off the next day. Just by google mapping it, I'm thinking Ithica, but id be welcome to other suggestions. Secondary question: are there any great hidden food spots to catch on the way? Thanks!
After a month of at-home kickboxing and adjusting my diet to include more than tacos, I'm beginning to feel the love for physical activity and healthy living. Now I find myself looking for CrossFit gyms in Philadelphia that won't scare me away. Snowflake details inside. [more inside]

PhillyPhilter: I need the services of folks in Philadelphia who might be able to fix or at least diagnose a busted laptop on short notice. Seemingly randomly, my high-end Clevo-style PC laptop started to show random visual artifacts when in Windows... and then even when booting up the BIOS... and then freezing horribly. I have no idea what is going on, and I have two academic manuscripts that are coming up to being due. However onerous, I could go to the university library to work on this, as I have all of my work backed up. Unfortunately, I have the misfortune that I am going to be traveling out of my area starting this weekend, for almost a full week. So I need help fast if at all possible, and I would prefer not to mail this damn thing to Michigan where it came from if I can avoid it. Where can I turn to in Philadelphia for this kind of PC laptop fixing service?
A friend of mine is looking to do a full sleeve with a lot of colors. The problem is that most tattoo artist in this area don't know how to mix colors that pop well on darker complexions. Does anyone have any recommendations for tattoo artists, preferably in the Philadelphia metro area, who are adept with working on darker skin tones?

The neck pain I've been having is clearly not going away on it's own, so I think I need to see a chiropractor. Anyone have recommendations for chiropractors in Philadelphia? I'm in Queen Village and would love to see one in the neighborhood if possible. [more inside]
I have a yoga fundraiser tomorrow at 5pm that I want something gay pride-ish for (like a t-shirt or yoga pants). I have a lot of gay friends that I could borrow a t-shirt from but I am traveling tomorrow so would be unable to meet up with anyone (and will be unable to shop tomorrow or get anything online by then). I have no rainbow stuff. I am in Center City Philadelphia. I will be checking Athleta, Lululemon, City Sports, Gap, etc for rainbow stuff, but I'd prefer something that expressly (like words) supports equality. All Google really tells me is gay-friendly stuff, gay reading (e.g. Giovanni's), etc. Does anyone know if any of those places would have slogan/pride t-shirts? Am I missing a HRC location or something else that would have something?
Noah Gallagher Shannon has a piece in Sunday's NYT about an emergency landing at Philadelphia. Something about the story makes me think that it might be fictional. Can anybody prove that the story took place as he describes it? [more inside]
I remember reading something, somewhere from one of the founding fathers about the original intent of legislators to NOT be a political class. To serve a term or two and go home so that people from outside could contribute and people inside didn't get too jaded. Though maybe I'm adding a lot of subtext. Is there anything from any of the FF's on this that rings a bell? Do you have a quote or two?
Please help me settle into Philadelphia. [more inside]
Girlfriend and I are going to Philadelphia tomorrow -- the plan is to eat fried chicken and donuts, hang out in a hotel room, go out and eat and drink some more, then go back to the hotel. We've been to Philly a bunch of times for various cultural things, and are big fans, but this trip the concept is basically: Do Almost Nothing. Still, we might want to take a stroll in the afternoon. Staying at the Radisson on 17th & Locust. Anything nearby we might not know about and should check out?

I've got the chance to spend two years doing research work at a university in either Boston or Philadelphia. I've never been to either city, and I can't visit them before deciding. I'm looking for general impressions of what life would be like in each place. (I've posted some other details inside, but because I'm so ignorant of both places, this is pretty free-form...) I've got a '98 Subaru Legacy Outback with 138k miles that I need to get rid of. It runs, but would need a fair amount of work done to continue running for long. It is safe to drive, but I wouldn't want to take it on a long trip. Trying to determine the best option: Selling, donating, or junking. In Philadelphia. [more inside]
