My prescription is ourageous for brand name temazepam and my pharmacy doesn't offer any generics of it. Why would one pharmacy carry it and others not? Where can I find it.

Why does it take 20 minutes for the pharmacy to fill my prescription, even when there's no other people in line? I assume they're doing something, but what else is there besides putting my pills in a bottle?

Should I order Aricept from a Mexican pharmacy for my senile, old mother? The doc gave her a month's worth of free samples and, for the first time in years Mom seems much better. The thing is, at $165.00 per month the stuff is very pricey. I've found it on the web in Mexico for $125.00 per month. She's on a fixed income. I've pretty much exhausted avenues for additional aid. Would the feds show up at my door? Should I risk it?

Why does Wellbutrin cause weight loss? Even my doctor doesn't seem to know for sure. Are there unproven medical hypotheses or studies amongst doctors or pharmacists or anyone else that lean towards an as-yet-unofficial answer? (Feel free to get technical. If I don't understand, I'll Google.)

I need to find a cheaper way to get proscriptions for Lexapro and Ambien filled. Basically there are 3 options A) Drive to Mexico and hope I can get them across the border there B) Try to get it from one of those online Canadian Pharmacies C) Get Another Job and buy them here in the US. I recently increased my dosage of lamictal from 100mg/day to 200mg/day. I was prescribed 100mg pills, whereas before I had 25mg pills. For a month's supply of 100mg/daily in 25mg units, the bill sent to my insurance was over $500. For 200mg in 100mg units, it was just under $300. Why would more of the active ingredient cost less? I know the difference in pill count can't account for that much of a differential. What's the creative economics here?

My wife is a pharmacy student and needs a PDA, primarily to run pharmacy-related databases from Lexi-Comp. I've owned only Palm handhelds in the past, but I want the best value for the money and have narrowed the field down to the Palm TX and the Dell Axim X51. [more inside]

Where can I find, preferably online, really obscure prescription drugs for sale without being "in" with a doctor? Specifically, I'm looking for Nizoral (ketoconazole) in either scalp fluid (I can only find Italian references) or foam (might only be in clinical trials). Generally, I'm sure there must be message boards for this kind of thing. A few years back, I had access to a private one with pretty good traffic, but it appears to be defunct now. Anyone have any good references they might be willing to share? [more inside]

I began taking Crestor via samples several months ago, but due to side effects have stopped. While using the samples, I also had a prescription for it filled. I am now stuck with a sealed, prescription bottle, along with several samples of Crestor. The pharmacy is unable to take the sealed bottle back. The prescription was rather expensive to simply wind up in the trash. What should I do with it and the samples?

OnlinePharmacyFilter: I am interested in buying a certain pharmaceutical for my own off-label use (which is known to be safe and effective). I would rather not deal with a doctor to obtain a prescription -- I don't at the moment have a primary care provider I trust -- and this drug appears to be readily available at any number of Web pharmacies, with few questions asked. Does anyone have experience with online drug sellers? Are these vendors reliable at all? I am skeptical, of course, and do wonder whether I'll end up with a bottle of sugar pills, or worse. (I saw a recent news report, on 60 Minutes, I think, about the global market in fake products, including brand name drugs, in which a fugazy Viagra pill made in China was shown to be indistinguishable from the real thing.) (On the other hand, CVS-bought, doctor-prescribed brand name drugs are not necessarily to be trusted either. And Vioxx is, I'm sure, just the tip of that industry iceberg. Nonetheless...) Am I crazy to buy drugs on the Web?

(Heck, it sue has been a long time since High School, when it never would have occurred to me to ask what was in the drugs I was taking, where they were from, or if they were "safe" or "pure"...)

OnlinePharmacyFilter: My doctor has prescribed a drug that my insurance will not cover. I can purchase a one-month supply of the drug for full-price from my local pharmacy for about $300. It seems I can purchase a generic version of the drug online for about $100 (without a prescription, even). [MI]

Pharmacists, medical professionals: I take methylphenidate for ADD. A month ago my regular pharmacy was out so I went to a different one. The pill looked different but I'm used to generics varying in appearance. So I thougt nothing of it. Today I refilled the prescription and the pill looked so different that I got worried and looked it up. My perscribed dosage is 20mg 3 times daily. It seems that for the last month I'd been unknowingly taking 20mg extended release 3 times daily (occasionaly four when I had to work late). I honestly didn't notice a difference, but now I'm worried. This shit is dangerous and I don't like to mess around with my mind. What dangers are there to the increased syrum levels I'd been experiencing? Considering that that the ER plateaus at something like 10mg for about 8 hours, I could have had as much as 30mg active in my body for several hours a day for 30 days. This is scary. Note, no information given will be treated as advice. If you guys scare me I'll reconfirm with a doctor and persue an appropriate course of action. So please, be honest. Is this a problem, or no big deal?

This month, I'm applying to Pharmacy school at UGA. The one "essay" goes: "In the space provided below, please provide a personal statement as to what skills, talents, or abilities you posses that will be helpful to you in our program."
Not looking for anyone to write my mini-essay, but anyone in the field of Pharmacy or admissions got any suggestions as to anything I could put on there to seperate my application from everyone else, or just pointers as to what kind of key words/phrases admissions poeple might be looking for?
