I need help generating an 'explanation' for my bankruptcy 6 and 1/2 years ago that will not make me look financially incapable to a potential investor. Are there any 'good' explanations for filing bankruptcy that I could use in order to not have this fact work against me? I need potential circumstances that would warrant a bankruptcy and sound reasonable to a potential business partner. More inside...

Please recommend some good personal-finance related web sites. I'm looking for sites with good information on all aspects of personal finance and responsible money use. Most of what I've found is focused on investing, though, and on macroeconomics. I'm not interested in the Big Picture. I want sites that focus on the Small Pictures: dealing with debt, saving for the future, finding bargains, etc. Think
Your Money or Your Life, but in web form. Big sites, little sites, weblogs, print magazines — I don't care, so long as it's focused on personal finance.
Bonus points for sites with RSS feeds. [more inside]

I have a friend here in New York who has a major personal injury case starting very soon dealing with his child. Involved is a major chain, and some serious plastic surgery. Is there a database to check out some of the lawyers who are in contact with my friend - about their history, wins / losses, etc?

This is quite possibly the strangest thing that I've ever done in my short adult life. I'm really quite stunned as to what just occurred because it seems so out of character for me. I know I'm not still dreaming. Yeah, I'm fairly sure of that. But anyway, what the heck happened only a few moments ago? And where to begin? Please, read on. Nothing too freaky inside. Promise!

There’s a long tradition of telling a story, say, around a campfire, or to a group of friends in a bar, and based on the feedback you get, changing the story to suit or entertain your audience.
Today, the web gives everyone the ability to tell a story and receive feedback from a much wider audience than was previously possible. Two examples I can think of are the blogging phenomenon and Shelley Jackson’s hypertext writings.
I’m looking for traditional/historical examples and sources as well as
as well as online equivalents?

I need to store about two large bookshelves of books. The problem is two-fold: With an impending addition to the family, I have no space in the house. Additionally, I live in San Francisco where I am worried about ruining the books if I simply place them in boxes in the garage. I need help with storage options.

After consulting with my cardiologist, I have the green light to push myself to my limits so long as I use a heartrate monitor and follow a graph. He suggested that I hire a personal trainer. However, except for my 12-week vacation at Parris Island when I was 20, I have no experience whatsoever with health clubs/gyms or hiring such a fitness expert. How do I start? And, what should I watch out for?

I'm thinking of establishing a new personal web site for the risque/opinionated stuff that I don't want on my family-oriented site. The thing is, I'm not convinced that MT and it's bloggerific ilk nor Nuke and it's bastard children can maintain the stylized newspaper/-zine site that I want to erect. What other styles of free or dirt-cheap CMS software are out there that I should consider for the new site?
