mod_perl madness! How do I choose between different perl modules at compile (such as it is) time? I'm trying to get a program to be able to run under either mod_perl or mod_perl2 (apache 1.3.x and apache 2.0.x, respectively). I need to write something (in perl) to shorten the text of a link if it's a URL, but only a URL. I've played with a variety of regexps and banged my head against HTML::Parser, but I've gotten no love. Help! [more inside]
