Calling all guitar players: Looking for popular songs that can easily be played and sung by a single person with an acoustic guitar without losing too much. Basically, the kind of songs you can put in a set list where people's reactions are to immediately say, "Hey, I really like that song," followed immediately by "and hey, that sounds pretty close to the original too!"
Also, very important: Any song should be playable by a *
mediocre* guitar player.

If I were to compile a small collection of live performance Jazz DVD's (say, 5-7ish), what *needs* to be in that collection? Specifically if my interests in jazz run less in the orchestra area and more in the trio-octet range?

I want to play some iPhone music apps live on stage with my band. I'd like to plug my iPhone into an amp. However, I have the iPhone 2G (The original) which doesn't have a normal headphone-out. This output is going bad, anyway. Is there a cable to get sound from the dock connector so I could feed it to the amp?

I am a borderline professional guitarist who suffers from
hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating) and also seems to have developed a very oil-extruding physiology. Is there anything I can do to make it so that I don't have to wash my hands between each and every song? If not, what is the most efficient way to clean up and dry off my hands every five minutes or so?

Avantgarde London: I want to take my girlfriend out to a biggish music/sound performance/event. I want it to be avantgarde, unexpected and unique - the kind of night that would send most music lovers screaming into the distance. I am thinking maybe opera, but I know NOTHING about it. And, as I said, I want
avantgarde opera in
London. Where do I start?

Having just been to a concert last night, I thought the whole tradition of the 'encore' was a little silly. I can't recall a performer ever not coming back to stage and belting out another few songs. Where did the encore come from? What are perfomers doing during their short "break?" Has anyone ever been to a concert performance where there wasn't an encore? Did rioting ensue?
