Help me solve problems with a peer judging contest!

Help me devise a peer judging system for a contest that will contain approximately 135 members, give or take a few. Key Details:

-The event will last five hours with a short break for lunch.

-The presenters are required to be at their exhibits except for the short lunch break and the time they spend judging others' exhibits, at which time those "others" must be present to explain their exhibit.

-The event must have peer judging. Other forms of judging cannot be substituted.

Last year the event was rigidly structured beforehand. Each registrant was assigned to rate 11 other exhibits which were predetermined, spending ten minutes at each exhibit. However, this caused a myriad of problems because on the day of the event people who were not registered showed up with exhibits and some did not show up all, throwing the entire system out of whack.

Scoring was based on three fields. In these three fields, peer judges would rate the exhibits they saw from 1-11 and the exhibits' overall score was taken from everyone's rating of it.

Assigning numbers and creating a system on the day of the event has been considered too problematic given the amount of other activities going on.

Does anyone have a creative solution to this problem? If you need any other information, just ask! The problem isn't so much the scoring system as making sure the judging assignments are doled out in an efficient manner before the day of the event.

What's the name of this particular peer review website?

There's a specific website I once visited. You could post your ideas for anything - a product, a new technology, a book, etc. Other users could comment and critique your idea. The website had a large picture of a fortune cookie on it.

Does anybody know the name and URL of the website I speak of?

peer to peer folder sync

Can anyone recommend software to syncronise files between multiple servers ? I have staff creating multiple large files, >1gb, daily and I need to share them with multiple organisations. (medical research data, medical research institutes, univercities, etc)

I'm considering using bittorrent and handrolling a solution.
Scan a folder for new files, auto seed new files, check other servers for their new autoseeded files.

When staff want to commit a data file for synching, they would just move it to a specific folder and wait for the servers to sync overnight.
An enhancement would be a webpage for staff to tick boxes, to publish data, queue for syncing, etc.

As far as I knopw the data will be static, once it's created it won't change, there will just be more of it.

It would be nice to have some reporting functions too.
Platform would be windows or linux.
Encryption during transit would be nice.
Estimated new data is 15gb day.
Initial seed would be 1,000gb+ (may post harddisks to start off)
Server locations are global.
Bandwidth not a huge problem, academic networks will be used.(keen to be efficient though)

If there is a existing solution, I'd like to hear about it.

I considered PowerFolder, but the techs there say it doesn't doesn't support multiple sources. I'm really looking for something that support multiple sources at a block level.

If there's an obvious way to do this, I'm missing it.
I'll admit I like the idea of using bittorent for legitimate purposes, but that should not be the driver.

Peer/professional development programs, you, and hopefully me

My GF is searching for information on Peer Development programs in Graduate school, with an emphasis on Professional and community development. If you attended Graduate school of any flavor, perhaps you could help me make her day a little easier. A Google search reveals a lot of links to 'peer mentoring' programs in Graduate schools, but the vast majority of these are intended to help students cope with stress. The school my GF attends is looking to start a program which is more geared around preparing the student for their future career - licensing exams, making and maintaining professional contacts and relationships, etc.

Specifically, she is searching for structural information; how was the program you were involved with or know about set up? What was the format for the program? What were some of the events? Stuff like that.

+5 if the school in question deals with Psychology. Cheers!

How to universally disallow P2P?

Is there any easy way to universally disallow P2P traffic on an office lan? Part of my job involves administering the office LAN. I want to make sure that nobody on the network can run any sort of P2P. This includes "secure" P2P such as Hamachi.

When I say an easy way, I mean easy. If there's a program that I can install, that would be great. I would rather not delve into server internals or router/firewall configurations.

If there is no easy way to block P2P traffic, I would be just as happy with a tool that could diagnose P2P traffic.

Network information -
Windows and Mac OSX boxes
Servers are Win2K
Using a Tasman router and Pix 501 firewall

Things like globix corporation and limelight network have tried to connect to my computer repeatidly, and I blocked it.
