Identify this game for me

I played a demo of this a long time ago, and its bugging me. It was a PC game, possibly late 90s/early 2000s, I think it was a Microsoft game. [more inside]

Seeking pretty, engaging games with no violence.

Need non-violent game recommendations. Have Xbox 360 (never used), a badass PC, and iPad. Like pretty, detailed environments, exploration, puzzles/deduction, mystery, adventure. Dislike all but the most very mild violence, and also not very good with things that are time-sensitive (like having to do things very, very quickly or have a good reaction time to succeed). Many years ago in the mid-late '90s I enjoyed Myst/Riven, The 7th Guest, Zork Nemesis, the X-Files game, the Titanic game, and a couple other exploring worlds/figuring things out things that I can't remember the names of. looking for recommendations of point and click games

I've always hated playing point-and-click games because of the lack of logic to the puzzles, but I recently loved playing Yesterday on my tablet. The story pulled me in and the puzzles (mostly) made sense. Now I need more... Can anyone recommend something similar, either on android or windows?

PC gaming veteran, returning to creating Rollercoasters & Civilizations

I used to play a lot of PC games, but in the past 10 years moved towards console gaming. I realise I've missed a whole era of games that only really work with a mouse and keyboard. My absolute favourites were creative, engaging, long play games, such as Rollercoaster Tycoon and Civilization. I never really played to win. I played for creative ends. The best times I had playing Rollercoaster Tycoon was in sandbox mode the only limits being my imagination. Those were the days. What (PC) games offer the equivalent of this now? [more inside]

What games would I love?

PC game suggestions only, please. I'm a stay at home mom, and my laptop is pretty much glued to my side. Civ IV is my all-time favorite game. I usually play the Rise of Mankind/A New Dawn mods. I'm not great at it, as I find it hard to beat on Noble level, but I can consistently beat it on Warlord level. So what else would I love? I like turn-based games because I have little kids. I need to be able to drop my game whenever and come back to it as I left it. I've always enjoyed the exploration aspect of Civ, and I've liked playing Sim City in the past. Fire away!

Help me find some games to love

Having been away from the PC gaming world for a while due to dodgy then broken laptop, I'm now looking with bemusement to find some great games. Most of the amazon/etc best-seller lists seem dominated by World of Warcraft and toys for Skylander. I'm mainly interested in RPGs and Action Adventure games. Strong plots a must. If they have fiddly controls then a nice learning curve is a must! [more inside]

Selling Diablo 3 and Battle.net's Terms of Service

I have a physical, legal copy of Diablo 3 I'm planning on selling on eBay. I always knew that once I got bored of D3 I'd be selling it, so when I registered it on Battle.net I created a whole new GMail & Battle.net account (with a fake name) so I could give them to the buyer as part of the sale. My questions, then, are as follows; [more inside]

I was ahead of the gaming tech curve once, but now I don't get it. What can I play?

I don't get PC game requirements; I seem to have a mental block on the issue, and I don't think I'm going to get it. I've never had one of those fancy "video card" things. HL2 and Portal work great on my laptop, Bio-shock is sluggish to the point where its playable but I won't bother. What games that were state-of-the-art at the time, but are now older, can I play? Recommendations for Real Time Strategy games

I'd appreciate some recommendations for PC based strategy games. I've really enjoyed playing Age of Empires and Caesar 3 in the past and was wondering what other newer games I could try, that are along the same lines. I tried the newer releases of the AOE franchise but find that I enjoy games that are set in ancient civilizations more . As far as playing hardware goes, my laptop has 2 GB of RAM and a pretty decent (I think!) video card (ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 with 256 MB of video RAM). Thanks!

New PC games run slowly on large LCD monitors?

I just bought a pretty high-end Dell PC with a large LCD monitor. It's got dual Core2 CPUs @ 2.66GHz, 4 GB of RAM, and a decent graphics card. The monitor is a widescreen 27" Dell Ultrasharp. So far, I like the PC. But I was disappointed to find that the first PC game I tried (BioShock) runs TERRIBLY. The game does run pretty well on my slightly older PC, which only has a 19" monitor. So, I think the large, widescreen monitor is the problem. Is that correct? Are there tricks to running the latest games on a large LCD monitor? Many thanks in advance for any advice and insight.
