I am selling something via craigslist and the buyer has offered to pay me via paypal after which I will ship the product? Is it safe? or is it possible I might get swindled?
I used an alias to post the ad and I am also concerned about my identity as my paypal a/c is my primary email account?
What should I do?

Through my various online transactions I've ended up with a bunch of British Pounds and Australian Dollars in my Paypal account. I could convert these to USD, but the exchange is currently pretty weak, and to make matters worse Paypal uses one that is even weaker by a bout 1.5% on average.
So I was wondering if there's a way around converting this money in order to use it. Can anybody thinking of good ways to spend these GBP or AUD? I was looking through Ebay Australia, particularly for coupons and "e-items" where I wouldn't have to pay any shipping, but couldn't find any. It seems most items along these lines are only posted on Ebay US. Another idea I had was to hire out someone in the UK or Australia to do some graphic design work, but I've had trouble finding any one and am not sure where to look.

I often download documentaries, and generally love them, and frequently feel like I want to give back to the director.
Monetarily-wise, that is, as perhaps I didn't pay for them.
What do you think of a service that allowed for paypal or such donation to individual directors? Could it work?
Alternately, directors of small films could set up a link on their websites, and one could spread the idea memetically.
I'm not looking to cash in on this, just to get feedback on an idea of how to assuage my guilt and help support those who make films worthy of support.

Simple e-commerce solutions. I have a fully built site, with individual webpages pointing to specific product items. I simply want to add a backend shopping cart functionality that resides on the server, without relying on PayPal. Whats the best opensource solution that allows me to pass a variable (ie, add a "Buy This" button to already-designed pages) to a shopping cart php function (inventory isn't necessary at this point) and allowing checkout/payment?

I bought an item on ebay, and almost 3 weeks after I paid it hasn't arrived. I've tried to contact the seller to get the package tracking number (since I paid extra for delivery confirmation) through his paypal email address (bounced back) and through ebay's messaging system (did not respond). I don't think I'm ever going to get the item, and at this point I'd like to get my money back as quickly and with as little hassle as possible. Should I initiate a dispute with my credit card company, ebay, or Paypal?

I just received an email from PayPal notifying me that my account information has been requested by the IRS. I rarely use the account--it has very little activity other than the occasional small purchase (ebay, etc) and small ebay sale. It doesn't seem like a scam email, but I have no idea why my info would be requested? Should I get a lawyer involved or is this just a large-scale email I should ignore? My singing group sells CDs online using paypal (accepting credit cards) on our website. We also sell CDs at shows where we perform, and so far have been accepting only cash and check. We would like to accept credit cards in hopes of getting even more sales.
I'm having trouble finding/understanding the information on the paypal website. Basically, can we get peoples' credit card info (the chick chunk slider?) and manually enter the credit card info into paypal at a later time? (I don't mind doing this manually, it's 50 transactions at the most.)
We are straying away from the automatic machines because 1) we won't always have access to power and phone lines 2)we don't want to sign up with another merchant account.

You have an online business in Canada and you have this choice: accept U.S. payments via Paypal in the U.S. dollar account you have (with a Canadian bank) and have the bank make the currency conversion to Canadian dollars, or letting Paypal handle the conversion directly. Why is the United States ACH (automated clearing house) system so slow and inefficient? Funds can never be assured until several days pass, and that creates a ripe atmosphere for check bouncing. When I do a Paypal transfer to my bank or move money from bank to bank it always takes 2-3 days. Why is the banking system stuck in the 1950s? Is there any talk of overhauling the ACH system?
