So despite being fairly knowledgeable about these sorts of things, I put on my own little "worst practices in computer security" seminar with my Mac Mini HTPC. And, surprise of surprises, it was compromised. Help me figure out if I've reversed the damage, won't you?

I'd like both computers in the house (one Mac, one XP) to share my WiFi network. This works great as long as the network is open, but I'd like it to be closed.

My Mac (10.3.9) seems to be automatically providing an outdated network password to my work network. Since the password is consistently wrong, it's causing my new, working password to lock up. Where might that password be stored? I've already removed anything from the key chain.

After getting a new logicboard installed on my MacBook Pro this past week, why does GoogleUpdateInstaller constantly ask for my password every few minutes? I'm only using GMail notifier and it is making me insane.

my work threw out an old g4 imac (the dome with the flat-panel type) and i took it home (with their permission). unfortunately, when i boot it up, the only option it gives me is to sign in under the admin, and i don't know that password. our IT guy wasn't too much help.

Any way around these two (Mac) iTunes annoyances? First, iTunes apparently cannot remember my password for "Check for Purchases". Second, iTunes always jumps the focus back to the next song it's playing despite how much further down I'm browsing and adding songs to playlists.
