How do I get my Mac to prompt me for a password hint on the startup screen?? I reset my password last week and I copied and pasted it in the password hint in case I forgot. It turns out I did. But for some reason it won't prompt me for a hint even though I have been trying to guess over and over incorrectly. [more inside]

My HP Pavillion dv4000 is not allowing me to log into the computer. It did this once before saying i lost my password and i had to have my ex do some trickery and it was fine. Now it is doing it all over again. This time I did not have a password..it has just locked me out completely. [more inside]

Win XP pword issue. I'm locked out of my laptop. I don't use it often, and the password expired - it was set to 30 days. Being an idiot, I didn't make written note of the admin password anywhere. Multiple guesses have so far yielded me nothing. I found this site but haven't tried it yet, since I have no access to the Win 2000 cd.

Anyone know how to get in w/o losing all my data and reformatting/re-imaging the thing?
