I am a canadian citizen applying for a
canadian passport, but I don't
personally know any person eligible to serve as a
guarantor, unless "personally" is legally defined more loosely than I imagine. Have you had any experience applying for a canadian passport with a
"Statutory Declaration in Lieu of Guarantor", and was the process complicated and delayed by the lack of guarantor
?

Let's say you emigrated to the USA from Italy with your family when you were just a child and you're now in your 20's. You find yourself in a situation where, for one reason or another, you've lost your birth certificate, your citizenship papers and your passport and you want to set about obtaining them again. How would you go about doing it? Where would you even start? Could you come up with a detailed step-by-step plan? It would seem to be a Catch-22. Can you get one document without having the other.

I'm getting ready to travel to South America. A couple of years ago, I washed my passport in a washing machine. It looks beat up, but all the pieces are there. Is there the possibility that I could be denied entry? How quickly could I get a new one if needed? Picture inside.

I'm booked for a flight from NYC to Japan at 11:00 AM on Thursday. Yesterday, my passport went through the wash and, while intact, is quite possibly invalid. Is it possible to get some sort of emergency replacement on such short notice, or will I have to postpone the trip?

If I am a US Citizen, and want to go to Canada for a few days, do i need a passport? I had one, but it was stolen, I'm a poor student right now, so i dont have the cash (or time to wait) for a new one to come. Is a driver's license or birth certificate considered official enough documentation?

[EU-Filter] I'm an American currently studying in Germany. I'm planning to travel to the Netherlands soon; unfortunately, I had to give out my passport to start the student-visa process. I've managed to lose the copies I made. I'm travelling by train. Will not having a passport be a huge problem? I've heard yes, I've heard no - so I'm turning to the Green for the answer.

An acquaintance who travels overseas frequently would like to scan and store her important identification (passport and driver's license) along with her credit cards, and store the images securely online. We would like to make the documents easily accessible to her through a Web page, but otherwise secure. I have offered her some space on my shared server, and while I have some ideas about how to secure things, suggestions would be useful.

Would my 3 year old son need a passport to travel into Canada from the US for a day trip? He'd be travelling with 3 other adults (all directly related to him), all of whom have unexpired passports. We'd be crossing at the Queenston/Lewiston bridge (outside Buffalo, NY). I have his birth certificate.

When applying for a US passport, has anyone been asked to send supplemental identification (driver's license, social security card, union member card, beautician's license, etc.)? Why? If I send my supplemental identification now, is there any hope that I will get my passport in less than four weeks from now?
