Can anybody help some Canadians fix this passport debacle? Need some help ASAP [more inside]
DualCitizenshipFilter: I was born an American citizen, the son of a Canadian mother. A few years ago I applied for and received my Canadian citizenship, and was provided with my Certificate of Canadian Citizenship. I have never applied for and do not have a Canadian passport. If I were to enter Canada now (by air or land) what do I say, what do I tell them? Can I just show them my canadian card and be done with it? What about coming back to the U.S.A.? Can it be done both ways without either passport?
As a dual citizen, can I travel to places on a Canadian passport that I can't go to (or is difficult or expensive to get visas for) on an American passport? Can I actually pick-and-choose what passport to use to get the best benefit? [more inside]
Canadian Passport Renewal: If I go down to the Passport Canada office and renew my passport in person, will they take away my old (still valid) passport, leaving me passport-less until the new one arrives? [more inside]
Will I be able to enter the US with a Canadian passport that expires in 4 1/2 months? [more inside]
I know someone posted something similar about an expired passport, but I want to know if I can travel domestically within the US using only my Canadian driver's license. (I am here on an H-1B visa) Extended version: [more inside]
I am a canadian citizen applying for a canadian passport, but I don't personally know any person eligible to serve as a guarantor, unless "personally" is legally defined more loosely than I imagine. Have you had any experience applying for a canadian passport with a "Statutory Declaration in Lieu of Guarantor", and was the process complicated and delayed by the lack of guarantor?
