I want to rent an event space in NYC. Where do I start? It's basically a wedding reception without the wedding, I'd like it to hold about eighty people, with an open bar and using my own caterers. It should be three hours booked at least. I'd like it in Manhattan but totally open to nearer Brooklyn and Queens. What do I need to know and where should I go in getting a space for late October?

I'm looking for a bar, club, or other party place that is showing the LOST premiere on Feb. 2nd in the Bay Area (preferably in San Francisco). I've tried Yelp and SF Station, and have found nothing so far. Is there anywhere else I should look? Anybody know of a bar or other fun public space that will be showing the final season opener? I need a great San Francisco bar for a party with 30-50 friends on a Friday night, but I don't want to pay to rent one out. This means either a bar that doesn't get insanely crowded on Fridays, or a bar that'll reserve a back room for free. Dive bars are fine, close to Bart is vital (e.g. Mission, Soma, Financial District). Prefer a good beer selection. Does such a beast exist?
