“A citizen of America will cross the ocean to fight for democracy but won't cross the street to vote in a national election” Why is there an apparent apathy of political participation in America, and to extend it a bit, how come voting turn-out is higher in some countries in others even if the countries in comparison are both recognized liberal democracies?

I'm 30 years old, in the UK, and I want to start playing a team sport. Probably rugby. I haven't kicked a ball in anger since I was 15, and I wasn't very good at it even then. (I am reasonably fit though - I jog.) How does someone like me get (back) into team sport, and am I likely to enjoy it, or will I just find myself frustrated?

Finding Job Hunters : I need to get 30-50 job hunters to talk to me about their job searches. I've tried recruiting in all the obvious (to me) places, but I'm not having much luck. I need ideas on how/where to find job hunters and what i can do to encourage participation. [MI]
