I need ideas on how to ameliorate the experience of flying across the country with a toddler and a baby. I'll be the only adult and will be holding my baby in my lap. Any advice, besides "Don't do it?" [more inside]

I’d be interested in hearing people’s experiences with letting their baby cry him/herself to sleep. After 5 months of (literally) almost constant contact with an infant, I’m starting to falter. [more inside]
