Help me find some workout pants

I am trying to find a pair of Mens reversible nylon workout pants my favorite pair or reversible nylon pants have an elastic waistband and no cuffs on pants legs they are Starter brand. I have been searching the stores and online for anything similar but have never been able to find another pair like them. All the ones I have ever tried since look similar but are lined and stick to my legs when i sweat. Any links to anything similar to my description will be greatly appreciated.

Should I just become a nudist?

I need to find dress pants that fit. I am a short female (a bit over five feet tall) and have a little bit of a belly (meaning my stomach isn't perfectly flat), but I am well within the normal weight range for my height (I weigh 115 pounds). I sort of have a pear shaped body but it's not that extreme. I eat well and am active but this is just the body that I have.
I cannot seem to find dress pants that fit properly. They all squeeze my waist and give me a muffin top or I am unable to sit down in them without feeling like they are going to pop off. I have tried many different sizes (2, 4, 6, petites and not petites) in many different brands, and they all squeeze my waist and hang off of my butt and generally make me look dumpy and terrible, or they are so tight I can't even get them on or sit down. I have a lot of luck with low rise jeans but I want to wear something nicer on a daily basis.
Is there a particular brand of dress pants that might work for my body shape? I want to dress nicely because I look very young due to my height, but I unfortunately have a limited budget. I cannot pay $200 for a pair of pants, but I could probably justify paying up to $100 if they really were great and didn't make me look or feel bad. I am used to having to get things hemmed by a tailor but I do not want to have to buy pants that essentially need to be resewn by a tailor to fit me properly. Unless that is the only solution, but it can't be.
This is anonymous because I do not want people to know that I am having this kind of issue with my body. I know that I shouldn't be upset because I look good naked and I am a healthy weight, but when I put on pants I feel squeezed and gross and preoccupied with my discomfort.

Replace my pants

The pants for my suit (men's) have been ruined, and I'm trying to replace them. How should I go about doing this, preferably online? This is a Hugo Boss, navy-blue, wool suit. I've been wearing it at least once a week for the past year, and there's a major tear in the side of the pants in addition to the fabric being thinned out. (I showed it a tailor, who told me it couldn't be salvaged. In addition to the tear, he said I've just worn them too much.)

I'd prefer to buy these online, but I don't know if that's possible.

I bought the suit at a brick-and-mortar Macy's. They sell either the same or a very similar suit online, but I can't see a way to buy just the pants.

I found this discussion that makes it sound hopeless to try to replace a suit's pants, since the jacket will be more faded/worn than the pants. Well, I don't know about that -- I've rarely dry-cleaned the jacket.

I've searched Amazon, MensWearhouse, and Bluefly but haven't found anything (though it's possible I'm missing something). The Hugo Boss website apparently doesn't include an online store. I should add that I'm in the US.

Any ideas?

Where can I find more pants like this?

What sort of pants are these and where can I find more? I got this pair of pants at H&M because they matched the woman's suit jacket I was buying. I originally scoffed at the length but I have now fallen in love with them. I am especially looking for pants this length/cut in other formal fabrics (the pair pictured are glen plaid).

Help me find more pants like my favorite pair

I can't find any pants that are anything like my favorite pair. And I'm not even sure if my favorite pair is reasonably fashionable, in the first place. Help? So I have this favorite pair of pants. Here are some pictures I managed to take in the bathroom mirror... not so great, but hopefully they'll give you some idea: 1, 2. They're black, and kind of like cargo pants, but made out of a more synthetic and less jean-like material. The tag says "Shell: 100% polyurethane, Support: 70% cotton/30% nylon." The only branding information I can find is "Old Navy" and "Outdoor," with this strange symbol. I think I bought them like 6 years ago or something, so I doubt this exact model still exists. They have two pockets on each side, and two in the back, fastened with velcro (except the top-side pockets), and have a built-in belt-type thing with one of those three-pronged "click" fasteners, if that makes any sense.

So, my question has two parts:

Are these reasonably fashionable, for casual wear with, say, a nice t-shirt? I've recently discovered fashion, and am still getting the hang of it; for example last week I upgraded from nerdy XL t-shirts to American Apparel solid-color M t-shirts. I much prefer these type of pants to jeans, or to the usual jean-like cargo pants, but if everyone thinks they're super-lame or something, I would welcome the advice.

Assuming they're reasonable, where can I get more of them?!? I've tried searching the internet, but nothing quite matches. The features that I most like are the material---it feels very smooth and synthetic (in a good way), while not being anywhere close to work-out pants---plus the color; the abundance of pockets and the belt-type thing are also nice.

Thanks!

Pantey Songs

We made a magazine all about pants. Not a fashion magazine or anything, just people writing/drawing/doing poems abut pants. Now it's time to launch it and I seem to need some pants-related songs for a radio show. Seems like a perfect question for the hive-mind. Any ideas?

What kind of pants should a man with an hourglass figure wear?

My boyfriend has an hourglass figure. Help me find him pants that don't make him look like an old guy with his belt cinched around his chest. My skinny, short boyfriend has a slender waist (29) and generous hips- he has a pretty traditional hourglass figure. Great, if only he were female. He usually wears 30/30 pants which end up making his legs look very long and his chest look small, entirely eliminating a torso and making him look like my Grandpa.

I thought that we could help the issue by just getting larger pants that would sit lower on his hips. Yesterday he tried 33/30's and this time he looked like my overweight 40-something uncle (startling, given that he usually gets carded for X-rated movies and weighs about 120).

I'm at my wit's end- what kind of pants can he wear an not look silly? (Note: he doesn't wear jeans, this is only for khakis and slacks) We're currently a ways from a major city, so taking him for a fitting isn't in the cards for a while.

A Song of Sick Pants

FashionFilter: How can I expand my circle of pants? Okay, so I haven't been incredibly concerned with fashion in the past, partially due to lack of options, but Ive never ignored it completely and I'm getting more into it after convincing myself that I have a serviceable eye for it.

I'm philosophically opposed to buying new clothes with only rare exceptions, so I get all of my clothes from thrift stores and eBay. This is no problem, except I'm a relatively small guy (5'7" between 140 and 150 lbs) who is sort of picky about clothes fitting well, and for whatever reasons things (especially shirts) that fit me in any way are relatively rare at these places.

Anyway, I find myself in a rut of trousers that I can't escape from. I almost always wear jeans. Light blue ones. I even find it difficult to wear darker blue jeans... they just don't look right. I have black jeans that I do wear, and some brown slacks that I wear sometimes. I feel silly in skinny pants, patterned pants, over-embellished jeans, etc. So what kinds of pants should I try?

In general, I aim for a sort of "understated-flashy," or even "tasteful hipster," meaning unusual, possibly vintage clothes, but not, like, shiny shirts, purple top hats, sunglasses at night, or anything like that. I tend to wear either tee shirts with graphics of some kind on them (no logos) or button or pearl-snap shirts, patterned and/or non-standard (white, blue) colored with the sleeves rolled up. Vertical stripes are too common now, but I have and wear some.

I mention all of this to present a picture of my clothes-psyche. For the sake of completeness, I will also mention that I'm very specific about my sunglasses. I'm looking for an alternative to the wayfarers, which are becoming trendy, though I haven't thrown away my red, tortoise shell, and blue-mirrored ones yet. I think I've found the "next step for sunglasses" in the clubmaster wayfarers.

So, I'm becoming more conscious of and adventurous with my other bodily accessories, but what can I do about pants?

I'm looking for some durable dark blue jeans.

Please recommend durable jeans that would fit a 6' 2" male that weighs around 190 pounds with most of the junk being in the trunk. I've been wearing three pairs of Gap jeans in size 34" x 34" in the relaxed fit cut for a little under a year now, but they're all wearing out. I'd be willing to spend more money if they would last longer. I keep a wallet in one back pocket and a small notebook and leatherman skeletool in the other back pocket. I'm seeing small holes in the back and the knees are starting to get pretty thin. I live in my jeans, I wear them 16+ hours a day, 7 days a week.

I went to H&M last night at the advice of the GF who thinks just buying everything online in terms of clothes is a bad idea, though this is what I've done most of my life. Turns out that while their shirts fit me nicely, their pants, even in a 38" waist, do not. I have far too much junk in my trunk to wear their pants. OK, so maybe the GF was right and I should try things on if sizes run so differently.

I'm looking for pants that aren't baggy, but can still easily fit the section of my body between my hips and my knees which seems to be a little thicker than the rest of me. (I love how H&M's shirt's look nice on me instead of like a big sail like most of my shirts do.)

Bonus points for ethically made, environmentally sound companies that can do this without breaking the bank (say, $100 a pair, if that's not completely unreasonable). I'm not against ordering online if the sizes run similar to every other pair of pants I've owned, unlike H&M. A few pairs of dress pants in black, gray, etc. would be nice, too.

Locally-made pants in San Francisco

Besides Cordarounds, are there any other pants / trousers made in San Francisco? Roughly two years ago, someone wrote about amazing-fitting men's pants by a shop in SF. I remember thinking I'd buy a pair when I finally have enough money; and that I do, I've forgotten the shop.

It might actually be Lindland's, but I'd like to know other places as well.

Pants!

Where can I find plain black or white girl boxers? (UK or online) I'm looking for a similar style to this but a little longer in the leg and without prints or supposedly "cheeky" slogans. I've managed to find some pairs in Primark in the boy's section that were the right type, a long time ago, but since then all the tight boxers I see have that penis-holding crotch bulge which I'm fairly sure wouldn't suit me. So I'm looking for plain black or white close-fitting boxers designed for poorly-endowed men, prepubescent boys or entirely uncheeky women in either a UK shop or from online, preferably at a low price but I don't mind awfully :)

Save my pants!

StainFilter: So, I've seen plenty of questions about getting wax off clothing, but what about the dark stain it leaves behind? I recently had an incident involving candle wax and my favorite pair of khaki pants. I immediately threw the pants into the freezer and the wax came off easily, but I haven't been so lucky with the dark, blotchy stain – what I can only assume is residual from the dirty, oily wax.

I've washed the pants multiple times, pre-treating with Spray 'N' Wash and things like that. I'm wondering if there's any methods and/or chemical treatments I can use to get rid of the stain (or at least fade it slowly over multiple washes)?

Thanks in advance!

womens pants length long

Where, within the 128 belt around Boston, MA can you buy washable women's plain front chino type pants in length long (34)? Where, within the 128 belt around Boston, can you buy washable women's plain front chino type pants in length long (34)? I know you can get them mailorder from several places but I want to try them on and buy them this weekend. I've seen long bell-bottoms (horror) in some stores. I just want normal straight leg pants. I would even be willing to take down the hem, if only they had generous enough hems.

What is with this nutty size deflation? Last year I was size 4. This year, same body, size 0?

Who wears short shorts? Not me.

I don’t like wearing shorts. I also don't like being hot. Can you recommend your favorite, comfortable, somewhat flattering summer pants for women? I’m forty pounds lighter than I was last summer, so I need some new clothes. I’m 5’9’’ and 140 pounds, but I have a long torso and short legs, which, while they have some definition to them, I can charitably describe as “sturdy” (that sounds so much better than “cankles”). I’ve also got a touch of the standard cellulite/varicose combo common to many women in their late 30s –not too much, but enough to make me unenthusiastic about displaying the back of my thighs.

I don’t feel comfortable in shorts that have less than an 11’’ inseam, but narrow bermudas make my legs look even stockier. I also dislike most Capri pants for much of the same reason. That mid-calf crop does me no favors.

But I spend much of my summer outdoors in Colorado weather (low humidity, but often in the 90s), and I’d like to be comfortable. I’ve been wearing men’s cargo shorts for the past few summers, but that’s not really the look I want anymore. Basically, I’d like to find some comfortable clothes that don’t reveal too much but don’t make me look dumpy.

I want to get me some traditional Dutch trousers, like these. I've Googled for hours but haven't come up with anything apart from a full, traditional costume which costs over US$100. I just want a pair of cheap pants!

Thorn-resistant pants?

I'm an avid Geocacher and in my area that often means encountering thorns and other hazardous (to me) plant life. I don't mind shedding some blood for fun but it's murder on my clothing. Since I'm in the market for some new pants, what should I buy? Bonus if they're convertible (the bottoms zip off and make shorts).

Where to find weather-resistant, quick-dry (gent's) trousers for a 3-week trip to Ireland in the spring?

Where to find weather-resistant, quick-dry (gent's) trousers for a 3-week trip to Ireland in the spring? The wife and I are finally taking our honeymoon to the Emerald Isle this April. It seems to be called the Emerald Isle mostly because it's always somewhat wet and rainy (and so stuff grows well). Help a SoCal guy stay dry!

I've got a rain coat, and my new Docs have been waxed, but I'm stumped as to how to keep my legs warm and dry. Well, dry mostly (I can get long underwear).

What do people in rainy climes usually do about this? I'm rather tall, so umbrellas don't work well for me.

Some requirements:
- I abhor the "conversion" style pants that zip the legs off
- I don't want swishy waterproof workout-style overpants
- I'd like something that looks like regular dress casual pants (like Dockers, Eddi Bauer, etc.), but with a little water resistance
- If possible, I'd like them to be lightweight and easily laundered by hand in the bathtub.
- I'm looking for these to be my everyday pants during the trip.

Looking for an expert tailor in Chicago. I can't seem to find someone who can tailor pants with precision, even basic hemlines. Ideally the tailor would be on the northside or the loop.
(personal recommendations only please, not Yelp). thanks.

Casual (but stylish) clothing blogs for aging hipsters?

Casual (but stylish) clothing blogs for aging hipsters?

I'm looking for some blogs that feature cool clothes that you can actually buy. Like HYA meets Etsy but for stuff beyond Ts and hoodies. Whatup green!?

I give up... I can't find any clothes I like. I've been digging for ages now. Occasionally I'll find a shirt or two from the usual suspects (Urban, AA, H&M, etc) every now and again... but my success rate is low. Like 75% of the crap I end up with doesn't fit right or is boring or both.

I'm looking for some blogs that I can frequent to find cool clothes. Like HYA but for stuff beyond Ts and hoodies.

For style background, I'm basically looking for stuff built from solid fabrics (I love seeing the weave - like linen or canvas) in earth tones with some kind of flair (like cool buttons or epaulets or interesting cuts.... nothing crazy). Sort of one part military, one part Marxist, one part haute couture... Does that even make sense?! Fsssh... no sense at all... maybe that's the problem. Ugh!

Anyway, help!

Please?

Which one is the hip pocket?

Is the "hip pocket" the front pocket or the back pocket? My whole life, I thought the hip pocket was in back. But I just read something that seemed to imply that the hip pocket is in front.

My visual dictionary is no help in this case--it just calls them "front top pocket" and "back pocket".

Is it a regional thing, or is it like how I used to think "mausoleum" rhymed with "linoleum" because I never heard anyone say it?

Help her find her underwear.

Do you recognize the underwear seen at 1:20 in this video, and secondly, recommendations for interesting artisanal lingerie? (Asking on behalf of Ms Forktine; video link basically SFW as long as your work is cool with improv people in un-sexy underwear on the subway.)

At about 1:20 in the video, there is a brief (pun unintended) shot of a woman wearing dark, striped knickers with some white detailing on either side in front, and some sort of X or bowtie in the center. Ms Forktine was looking over my shoulder, and said "I want those!"

First, does anyone recognize the specific brand/model the woman in the video is wearing?

Second, and more generally, can anyone recommend any specific artisanal or small-scale lingerie designers who sell online? There are so many on Google and Etsy that it is overwhelming trying to sort through them; what I'm hoping for here is suggestions from happy customers, friends-of-a-friend, or other ways to cull the possibilities. Every-day or special-occasion; cost is not the primary factor; plus-sizing not needed; she is open to anything from corsets to knickers to chemises to whatever, as long as it is better quality and/or more interesting than what you find at the mall.

Can you help me find online a belt (for jeans) i saw on a magazine cover? Hi,
I supply an uploaded photo. On the buckle, the script reads as either "tough" or "rough". (If you know something similar it is all right too...)

Thanks in advance...
What are some good looking world coins, the size of a US Nickel or smaller? It's for my pants. I would like to replace the buttons on all my pants with cool coins from all over. What world coins look great and are not huge.

So far I've started with the ¥100 coin, which it turns out is about as big as I can use (~22mm). A US quarter is too big to fit through the button hole.
