I would like to begin to sell my paintings at local art fairs and online sites such as Etsy, $25-100.00 price range. Do I really need to set up an LLC or sole proprietorship, get a tax number and whatever else just to sell a painting or two (if I'm lucky?) Thanks.
P.S. I live in Illinois.

Ten or twelve years ago I saw a series of paintings I really liked at the
Denver Art Museum. The paintings featured idyllic farm-like scenery under bright blue skies with white clouds. Distinctly the sky made up 80% of the image, so the ground and barns, etc. appeared to be quite small and the sky seemed huge. There were at least 3-5 of paintings in this series, and the canvases were very large. Can anyone identify the paintings or artist?

My wife keeps a list of all the words our 1 year old has learned to say. As a present I thought it might be nice to commission an artist to make a collage of them that we could put on the wall. I'm in London, England.
I have no idea how one would do this, or if it would be affordable (I'd be prepared to spend up to around a thousand pounds). Can you commission an artist - and if so, how would you find one?

Anyone know the name of this painting at the Louvre? It's an eighteenth-century work of two aristocratic ladies, young and not terribly attractive, standing side by side and wearing nothing at all but their jewels and sly smiles. One of them has her finger plugged casually--one might almost say absentmindedly--into the other's butt. I just told my fiance about it, and she refuses to believe that so august an institution as the Louvre would display such a painting, much less that it even exists. If I can prove I'm not making it up, I won't have to dishes for a week. Thanks

My late grandfather painted
an interpretation of one of Maurice Utrillo's depictions of the "Maquis" of Montmartre, in Utrillo's time a very poor
area of the well-known Paris neighbourhood. Which Utrillo work did my granddad use as a blueprint, and where exactly was Utrillo's vantage point?

I'm looking for images, most likely illustrations but photos might do, that depict the most absurd, over-the-top awesomeness. Imagine someone sat down and said "I'm going to draw the silliest, most awesome thing ever."

I'm wondering if anyone can identify a painting on the wall of a friend of mine from a brief description. It's a painting of a woman in her early-mid 20's, who looks vaguely like Bo Derek.

I 'm learning English. And I am looking for some paintings of Edward Hopper ... that Gregory Orr describes in his essay, "Return to Hayneville" I don't think it is from Nighthawks. Could you recall some of Hopper paintings from his description?_And there is something completely new in town, the only new thing as far as I can see :a BP cnvenience store, where I stop for gas.The station is shiny and all lit up, its blue -green signs glowing intensely in the dark
like those roadside stores in Edwards Hopeer paintings, gleaming forlornly against the primeval dark of rural Anywhere, America.

$500 to spend on original art; where do I do that? I want to buy art for my home; specifically oil or watercolor paintings. I do not want to buy prints. I want to see the brush strokes. I would rather purchase in person. I am in the Phoenix AZ area. Feel free to list websites also.

A while back someone showed me a rather graphic collection of paintings. Many included depictions of Hitler alongside piles of bodies, erect penises, and cartoonish figures gleefully engaging in coprophagy. Anyone have any idea who the artist might have been?

Arabic Script ID / Translate: I have
two painted pages from what appear to be old Arabic script books (though I am not sure the language). I bought these in Syria in 1992. Can anyone help ID the story from the images, and help with translation of the text? One picture would just appear to have an artist's name, while the other looks to be part of a story. I don't think the two are necessarily from the same book. What isn't clear to me is whether the images were just painted on old pages, or if the story might be related to the image.

I am looking for a painting that I saw in the St. Louis Art Museum years ago. In my memory, it is of an African-American family on the roof of their house as flood waters circle around them. The father's hands are outstretched in a plea to heaven. I originally thought the artist was
Earnie Barnes but I can't find it on his site or anywhere else on the Internets. I am convinced that the painting is in the "Ernie Barnes style" if that helps. Help me please!

What's the next best thing to having an original Van Gogh? What's the third best thing etc? Are there reproductions that look almost identical in every respect? Or to put the question another way, what's the best I could get for under $2000 if I wanted a Starry Night (or any other priceless painting) hanging on my wall?
