She looks remarkably like a friend of mine and I would like to find a print of this.
There's an artwork on public display in my community that isn't labeled with the artist's name or the title of the piece, and I'd like to know more about it. The facility that has it on display doesn't have the information, so I'm hoping you could take a look at it (or just read my description) and tell me if you know more about it, or where I could find out who created it and what it is called. It's a rather unique piece, being a full-length overcoat that's been hardened/cast and mounted on a large canvas. The yellow floral pattern of the coat is seamlessly transferred to the background of the canvas. For a link to a phone-cam pic I took of it, click [more inside]

I have some masking tape adhesive residue on my windows. They are vinyl windows double pane with argon gas inside. I use naptha with is lighter fluid although I use the actual stuff from a paint store to remove adhesive on other stuff it works well. It is safe on plastic. What I'm wondering will it damage the stuff that holds the glass panels to the frame (I think its silicone not sure though) I dont want it to get damaged and let the argon gas leak out.
Hi yall! I got this painting about 12 years ago in Baltimore as a gift. Who painted it? [more inside]
I am searching for the name of a painter. I am going to describe one painting I clearly remember. I saw these paintings when I was a child. The book of his works had the same theme of monkeys and skeletons involved in everyday activities. In the painting I remember, a skeleton (it may have been a couple) is in a bed with white sheets and leaning over to put out the light on a nightstand. There is a monkey or baboon sitting on the room's window sill. The images are realistic bordering on illustrations. This is all I have. And this is why I came to metafilter. Thank you for your help.

how to find trustworthy and high quality tradesmen in England? In Particular in or close to Cambridgeshire UK. I've seen a few sites that purport to offer crowdsource reviews of tradesmen but they have a small number of tradesman and few if any reviews which means I can't place too much weight on them. Something like tripadvisor would be awesome as from experience I know that there are so many untrustworthy people doing these jobs.
In my workplace, until recently we had three paintings hanging next to each other; I would like to know the artist. [more inside]

I'd like to add a Latin or French phrase meaning "from life" (i.e., short for "painted from life") to my signatures on paintings to differentiate my work from artists who rely on photos and video monitors instead of live models for their work. I'd like it to be pithy and idiomatic, and so I'm somewhat reluctant to rely on Google Translate . . .

My friend and I were wondering about the exaggerated artwork on old Trapper Keepers. He recalls seeing some sports-themed pieces by the same artist. It's quite a detailed, caricature sort of style. Anyone know who did them?

Can anyone identify the artist, title, and location of this artwork? (It's a cropping of a larger work, and it may be a version of the Last Judgement, that's all I know....)
This is going to be really difficult, I think, but it's worth a shot. A long time ago I saw (on dutch tv) a documentary about a young dutch painter/artist of the seventies. He was in his twenties back then, I believe, and he died (of cancer?) soon after (that is, probably also in the seventies). Can anyone tell me what his name is? Somehow whenever I think back of this documentary a rose pops into my mind, but I don't know why. Perhaps it was a painting of his.
