Does anyone have good matches for the Fuscia/Magenta-ish colors used by DEC for their (very) old PDP series of computers? I'm trying to use the colors and am looking for near matches. Optimally, I'd love to find what DEC themselves would have used for promotional materials, as well as paint mixture codes if I wanted to paint stripes of matching colors on my walls. ;)
We recently acquired this record player console from family. I had the genius idea to paint it to go with our decor more effectively... And now it looks like this. I am displeased as I feel it looks like children's furniture. Help me fix it please! [more inside]
It's time to paint the living room. Problem: we have light wood floors with dark furnishings and my SO wants to keep the room "light and airy" whereas I would do anything to avoid white or eggshell walls and keep pushing for colors he says are "too dark and claustrophobic". What color scheme can we both agree on to really tie the room together? [more inside]
I'm horrible at color matching and I envy the HGTV shows that color board everything so you can see what it looks like ahead of time. I've just finished decorating my living room with a couch and I think the walls are too bare. Should I do an accent wall or some wall pattern? [more inside]
I need some suggestions for a paint color for our sunroom. There is lots of light, a wood floor with medium tones and the furniture we have out there is brown and an orangish rust color. The rest of the house is mostly neutral, but we can go with a bold color if it would work well.
Can someone recommend a specific pleasant white-ish or neutral shade of paint that I can use on my walls repeatedly for like, forever? [more inside]
Would it be weird if I painted three out of five upstairs rooms the same soft green color, if they were given different treatments? [more inside]

We are in the midst of a kitchen renovation project, and our cabinets arrived. We ordered victorian white, which looked off white in the showroom, but now that it's in our kitchen the cabinets have a pinkish hue. Pink was not what we were looking for. We're doing absolute black honed granite counter tops, and are trying to decide on what color to paint the room and ideas for the backsplash. Here's a link to a picture of the cabinets. The question: how can we subdue, or neutralize the pinkish hue?

I just moved into room in a beautiful house, but cannot for the life of me decide what color to choose. I'm looking for a natural, earthy tone - something with a sensual vibe like dark brown. [more inside]
I'm a fan of mid-century modern design. We've just bought an apartment in a building from that era (1961), and want to furnish it appropriately. We've got some vintage stuff we've collected over the years, and have bought some new stuff from Ikea and elsewhere that fits the bill. I'm also planning to build or modify some simple items (shelves, an entertainment center) in mid-century style -- and here's where I've run into a major problem: I can't seem to find paint in that very dark, almost-black brown that is so characteristic of the period. Any suggestions? [more inside]

I've recently painted my bedroom a deep, rich purple. I absolutely adore it, but about 80% of the way through, I ran out of paint. I went back to Home Hardware to pick up another gallon, it is mixed to the exact specs the first can was mixed as, however, after finishing up the room, and doing patch work, it is apparent that there is a slight difference in the color. There's a little [more inside]

I am looking for books and/or magazines with lots of photos of pre-20th Century living spaces. Why, you ask? Because I'm trying to paint the walls of my 115 year-old brownstone apartment in a color that (1) I like and (2) complements the architecture.
