I have pain in my neck/shoulder. It's partially from computer use but becomes most intense when I draw. I need advice on better ergonomic setups as well as safe exercises I could do to strengthen those muscles, or anything else I might do to reduce this sort of pain.

Hey, for the third time in the last ten years or so the same part of my upper back has decided to cause me a spectacular amount of pain and discomfort for the last five days or so. The pain is all on the right side of my upper back, going up my neck to the base of my skull, accompanied with numbness in my shoulder and all down my right tricep, sometimes all the way down to my fingers. Along with the pain I'm nauseous half the time, possibly as a result of the pain itself. Sleeping, working and doing anything at all beyond moaning is really difficult, and the application of heat and cold has only helped temporarily.
Last time I just took over-the-counter back meds for a week until I could get off the couch, and then a bit later went to a chiropractor who identified a problem in my upper spine and assured me he could fix it if I came around every week for the next 20 years and signed over my paycheque. This time I'm going to go to a proper doctor, but can anyone take a guess at what may be wrong and what sort of doctor I should try to see?
Thanks!

Continuous Nuvaring is not working for period suppression. Of Depo-Provera, Mirena, and continuous Ortho Evra (only those three options), is any significantly MORE likely than Nuvaring to completely or mostly suppress periods?

Without a podiatrist, how do I fix my big toe? I do not think it is a hangnail, and it looks normal to the eye. But I could bump it on a down pillow and it will be so painful I want to chop it off. And it's a delayed pain.

My gf has a swollen puffy lump about 2.5" wide on the base of her spine, no discoloration or pain, it just appeared at the same time she got a sudden sharp stabbing pain in her right lower back - are these 2 things related, if so, can anyone tell us what it means?
Obviously we need to talk to the doctors, but she's been working with them for years and no one can tell us anything yet - we thought someone else might have some ideas?

Broke my foot 2 years ago - seems like the gait has been altered and now my shoes don't fit as well and pressure started being put on my baby toe right on the inside between that toe and the adjacent one and a small corn has developed making every step excruciating.
So I went to get one of those silicone inserts and it's helping somewhat. Also got new shoes. But now what? Will the corn disappear by itself? Is there anything that's not hyper-toxic that I can use on it to hasten the healing? I can't afford to go to a podiatrist right now - so anything that is suggested has to take this into consideration.

I am looking for a web site or book that someone here can recommend detailing ALL major stretches for the hips and lower body that also shows anatomical diagrams of exactly what is being stretched by the stretches. I have seen some good stuff on the net, but i am looking for a complete list with anatomical diagrams. If it is only hips, thats OK too. Thank You.

YANMD or my physical therapist either, but maybe you know enough about the failure modes of the human skeletomuscular system to suggest possible reasons for the excruciating pain I feel when someone puts pressure on the base of my spine?
