On average how long is there pain after knee replacement surgery? I had a partial done Dec. 12th and still have days that I have to take pain pills for the discomfort. Is this typical? Should I go back to the doctor?

My 13 y.o. son had a metal plate screwed onto his radius on Tuesday afternoon to correct the way it was healing from a break about 3 weeks ago. He's in a LOT of pain still and I'm hoping that anyone who has had this kind of surgery can tell us something about recovery time, medication and how much pain they experienced. [more inside]
