Professional Looking Labeling/Packaging on the Cheap for Small Business?

I'm looking into opening an online shop with a few niche items, and I don't know how to go about packaging and labeling them. I'm very small time and this is a very small market, so I need to keep things on a budget. In theory I have a color inkjet printer and bw laser printer, but neither are cooperating at the moment, and I don't want really terrible hand made labels I've seen some people make on their printers. I can probably figure out why they're broken if there is a way to do nice looking labels on a home printer, I just haven't seen it. I can do design, but I've got little experience in the physical space. I'm also completely lost on the packaging side of things. Where can I find out about packaging and labeling cheaply for small (micro) businesses? [more inside]

Difference amongst aseptic, ultra-clean, and clean in food packaging?

Quality & Food Science Experts: What's the difference amongst "aseptic", "ultra-clean", and "clean" in food packaging technology? I've always thought it was the same darn thing, but apparently not. I've googled like crazy, but I'm just pulling up sites selling me 500 ton hunks of stainless steel rather than explaining what the differences are.

Best reusable product packaging?

I realized recently that I purchase a certain brand of tomato sauce because underneath the label lies a very attractive mason jar. Do you have products that you buy almost as much for the reusability of their packaging as the product itself? The Altoids tin would be another example.

Granola/Energy Bar Production

I am looking into packaging, marketing and selling a energy bar or granola bar of some sort. Does anyone have any information on where to start with something like this? I need information on how to find packaging? Does anyone know how to get it tested for nutrition information and stuff like that? Also if it was to be organic is there another path for doing that? Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Retail store workers dealing with fashion jewelry, untie!

I work for a manufacturer looking to sell fashion jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, earrings that sell for appx $5-$20 at retail like the kind you'd find at stores like Claires, H&M, Forever 21, etc) to retail stores. For purposes of this question, we're looking to sell to general retailers like the ones above, NOT to jewelry stores. We're trying to figure out packaging as it relates to polybags. Most stores, such as the ones above, display their fashion jewelry without polybags i.e. people can touch and feel the jewelry. [more inside]
