How can I better organize my schedule through better use of my work and personal calendars across platforms? My primary calendar at work is through Outlook/Exchange, but for personal correspondence I use gmail/google calendar, mostly accessed through my iphone or a browser on my mac. Right now I am just inviting Work Email Address Me and Personal Email Address Me to events (like meeting invitees) but perhaps there is a better way. Suggestions of articles/resources to help me figure this out also welcome! [more inside]

Like most impossible things, it seems like it should be simple. Basically trying to figure out a way to do project management via email with Outlook which is syncing from Google apps via MAPI / Google Apps Sync. I get an email, I put it into a folder, which then gives my colleague access to read and respond to that email in the same folder, and vice versa. Can it be done? All the juicy details inside. Probem synching Outlook, Gmail, Windows 8
I'm having trouble synching Gmail with Outlook 2007 on Windows 8.
It may be because Windows 8 has a mini Outlook app that syncs with Gmail already.
I have connected the Gmail account with Outlook, and it is sending and receiving, but strangely about 50% of the messages that go to Gmail online don't go to Outlook, so I'm at only a 50% sync rate.
This is quite strange - does anyone know how this may be?

Work email just moved/regressed/backwards-evoled from Gmail to Outlook. I feel like it's the 90's all over again. Didn't realize how much my day-to-day efficiency was based on Gmail features. Not inviting a Gmail vs. Outlook tug-o-war, just solutions for a.) possibly somehow inserting Gmail back in the loop so that I can benefit from its functionality while keeping my employer happy by "using" Outlook (slim chance, I realize) or, b.) been-there-done-that-and-here's how-I-survived ideas.

I am woefully deficient at anything IT related, yet as a small business owner I need to get my ass in gear. Can you help me figure out how 2 computers in my office can access each others' Outlook? We aren't on a Microsoft exchange server (and I don't think I really understand what that is, if that helps to give you a better picture of how clueless I truly am). [more inside]

I'm having a great deal of trouble receiving my University email in Outlook 2000. My University uses Google Apps, which allows me to use Gmail as my webmail service, but does not assign me a Google or Gmail account. The domain of my email address is myuniversity
.edu, not gmail.com. For this reason, Outlook does not recognize the username and password that I use to log into my email (through my university's website). I have tried following gmail's tutorial
(complicated by the fact that they don't offer one for Outlook 2000) with no success. I've tried reporting my incoming mail server as both pop.gmail.com and pop.myuniversity
.edu. Any ideas? Did I miss any important info?

I use Outlook at work since my company uses Exchange Server. They only give us 35MB of e-mail storage. I would love to use my Gmail account to manage all my e-mail however I would need to have my work e-mail forwarded to my Gmail account. I can access my Exchange account via Exchange or IMAP. Are there any automated ways to redirect incoming mail to anothter address?

I’m hoping that someone can provide me with some email tips, specifically for a Hotmail user.
The main problem I’ve been having is finding a streamlined solution for all of my email accounts. Here’s my current setup/status:
- 1 hotmail account (my main application)
- 2 gmail accounts (used mainly for online sign ups and the like)
- 1 work email account
- 1 account through my ISP (time warner – roadrunner)
- Multiple site accounts at joelneuenhaus.com
- To wrap it all up, I use MS Outlook 2003 (work is accessed directly through an Outlook POP3 setup; my website accounts are forwarded to gmail and gmail is forwarded to hotmail; my ISP account is accessed via POP mail retrieval in Hotmail – a real pain – finally Hotmail is accessed through an Outlook HTML account) [more inside]
