I'm encountering what I imagine is an entirely rudimentary SQL error, but am baffled as to how to solve it. [more inside]
Having read this prior question, I'd like to pose something similar in the hope that six months of iSync 2.1 experience will better inform the answer. I'm looking for a phone that painlessly syncs with iSync 2.1, preferably via Bluetooth. I'm not interested in email access, or a camera, or any sort of browsing. Bonus points for T-Mobile affiliation.
A Google search reveals several possible ways to convert a WMV file to an mpg, or an avi, or a mov, on a Mac. My question is, for someone who does not have QT Pro and is hoping to do this for free, and has no easy access to any machine other than his G5, what is the best way to convert a wmv into something, anything else (mpg, avi, mov)? This is something of a repeat question (24337) but I'm not facing any DRM and do have access to Final Cut Pro 4.
I'm on a G5 running Tiger, referring to a user account lacking admin privileges, with a backup strategy of dragging my User folder to an external hard drive once a week. Since upgrading to Tiger, though, I've been informed that "You may need to enter the name and password for an administrator on this computer to change the item named 'Library'." I've duplicated this on another computer. What's going on here? First, I'm only copying the Library, not changing it, and second, why do I need an administrator password? This is my User library, I thought that it and everything else within my User folder was by definition owned by me, and that even if I did want to modify something in the Library I wouldn't need a admin password.
How can I control the amount of time before my G5 sleeps while at the log-in screen? My computer has two user accounts, both of which are set to never sleep. I'd like to set things up so that the computer will go to sleep 10 minutes after logout. Detailed steps for any sort of Terminal wonkery would be greatly appreciated.
