Some tech blogger - probably one with a Mac focus - wrote a post about leaving TextMate for a different text editor, in the style of someone addressing a person with whom they were ending a romantic relationship. Can you help me find it?

I've got a couple of ideas for useful computer applications, and having moved over to Mac, would like to develop them for OS X. However, I'm completely unfamiliar with developing stand alone programs (I pretty much only work in PHP, though occasionally Perl and have grazed Ruby and Python).
Where would I start to learn how to create my own complied apps? C? C++? Any book or artcle repositories you all would suggest?

A little while ago, before my last reformat, I had just found a really slick tool for generating interfaces/skeleton implementations for Objective-C classes. I can't recall the name, but it (I think) integrated with Xcode, and made programming easier.
My google-fu has failed me, here. Help me, Askme, you're my only hope!

I've done some programming in my time (Basic & Turbo Pascal way back when), shifted more to the web side of everything about 8 years ago (procedural PHP server-side and HTML&JS&CSS client-side).
Having recently purchased a mac mini, and hearing the gospel of how easy it is to program with carbon & cocoa, does anybody have any recommendations (books) on where to start?

What do people use for a cheap or free programmer's text editor on OS X? I know that
BBEdit rules the school, but I'm loath to spend that much money when I'm (almost) happy with
vim. I do web programming so I'm mostly working with PHP/Perl/Python/XHTML/CSS, but I'd like a program that could handle heavier work if I decided to move in that direction. Is there an OS X equivalent of
Textpad, both in features and price?
