I have a how-to type web site that's grown to be fairly large. The categories I've created to organize my articles often don't fit well and I may already have too many. I'm also not using tags. I seem to lack both a good system and an aptitude for labeling & categorizing things. I need to come up with a better method that my readers will find more useful and which will also be search engine friendly.

How do you digitize your research notebook? I've got a small notebook that I carry around with me with about 2 years' worth of notes, ideas, references for papers or books, and scribbles from various meetings, conversations, etc. I had a heart attack moment today when I thought I'd lost it. What's the best way to organize all this stuff digitally? I'm on a Mac, if it makes a difference, but general advice is appreciated.

Personal Library Filter: Over the last couple of years, I've been helping an elderly couple with their massive book collection. After a lot of searching, I ended up finding BookCAT which seemed to be great. But these people really want to have lots of print-outs. (The husband does not use the computer at all.) BookCAT is way too complicated for even me in this regard. What else is there?

How do you organize your life? I am a creative but highly disorganized man. At any given time, there's loads of things I need to do, and I usually only end up doing about 1/5th of them. And it's not because I'm slack: I simply can't keep track of everything.

Help me get my PDF's organised! I need to be reading large quantities of academic papers for research I am working on and currently don't have a way to keep my readings organised. Is there some snazzy yet simple software (preferably for linux) to help me keep a library of PDF files, and hopefully jot some comments down after I'm done reading? Additionally, any good linux software for simple highlighting/annotating of these files?

The basic questions:
1) which mail program should I be using under Leopard? Mail, Thunderbird, other?
2) Can I (easily) port my PC Eudora mail over to that program?
3) I need to clean/sort out my past 8 years of emails. Where in the process do I do that? and how?
AKA, I can't figure out how it sort it out.
