Hi all. I'm trying to learn how to play the organ solo in "She's Not There" or alternatively "Sticks and Stones" by the Zombies. I'm not sure what they are... the blues scale? I have moderate piano experience.

What is this thing my cat brought to my porch?
http://i.imgur.com/cejZcGe.jpg It appears to be something between an animal fetus and organ. When I turned it over it looked the same on the other side. There were no visible eyes/mouth/features. It was larger than a quarter and there was no blood present. A possum visits regularly, and the area has many moles, birds, and raccoons.

I'm looking for a video of an excerpt from Liszt's piano sonata in B minor transcribed for the pipe organ. I am pretty sure it was played by a Dutch man, or in the Netherlands, and he had two different colored socks. The obvious youtube searches are turning up nothing. Anybody?

Should I sign up to be an organ donor? I like the idea of individuals getting my heart, lungs, kidney, liver, eyes, etc. I do not like the idea of having my body sent to a corporation to harvest my tissues and then packaging them and selling them for profit. I've read that this does happen, hospitals and transplant centers can thereby profit from the sales as well. How can one prevent that from happening and yet allow organs to be used by those needing them. My state donation site has a blanket consent form that reads as if my body could be taken to 'another facility' and "tissues" harvested. No mention of by whom, what for, and at what price they would be sold.

There is a certain organ sound used in a lot of old prog music. A grindy organ sound. A perfect example is
here, starting at 2:48. What is the instrument, and, if applicable, what is the setting / tone / whathaveyou (for example, if the instrument were a Hammond organ, what button would be pushed / levers flipped / etc. to get that sound? If a Moog, what dials would be turned, more or less?)?

I recently picked up a Naxos CD called
Organ Meditation, liked it quite a lot, and realized I'd like to hear more in the same vein. Can you recommend some other recordings of quiet and meditative organ music? The bits I liked best were 19th century or earlier, but I'm open to more modern/contemporary suggestions too. Thanks!

FarfisaFilter: I love songs with prominent Farfisa/Vox Continental/Musitron organ parts, the crazier the better. 96 Tears, Rock Lobster, Runaway, and recently, MGMT's Song for Dan Treacy. What are some other (more recent) rock tracks with great combo organ parts?

My roommate and I recently picked up a Kimball console organ for the price of carrying it down three flights of stairs. Unfortunately, we banged one of the keys on the lower row on the way down, and now it's stuck. While B is a solid note as far as notes go, does anybody have any tips on how to unstick it?

On the interior portion of a chicken leg quarter in a recessed portion of the bone is a small brown organ with a liver-like texture. What is this organ anatomically and does it have a culinary term attached to it?

MusicFilter: Mrs. Billtron would like more music like the opening song from HBO's True Blood,
"Bad Things" by Jace Everett. She likes the sound of Chris Isaak and Junior Brown, which are the closest things in our mp3 collection, but misses the spooky vampire and warewolve ambience of the theme song. Any suggestions? Suggestions should err on the side of New Orleans rather than Nashville, since she just got back from Louisiana and really misses it.
PS I am really enjoying reading Margaret Atwood's
The Handmaid's Tale at the moment.

I love any music that uses a Hammond Organ, whether it's 70s rock, gospel, jazz, whatever. The sound of it just makes me happy. There are some obvious artists that come to mind: Medeski, Deep Purple, the Doors, but I want MORE! The closest thing I've found so far is on
All Music, there is a list of artist who use the organ, but it's mostly classical and jazz. I'd like a list that includes rock artists, too. Any suggestions for artists I'm missing or links that would help me to expand my listening options?

I've been (intentionally) listening to some songs with pipe organs in them
that sound like this [MP3, 0.8MB]. Can anyone recommend modern songs that happen to use these instruments? As in singing, perhaps blues/folk/indie, rather than centuries old church ditties. Thanks.

I am thinking about donating my kidney but I'm about 100lbs overweight and probably a doctor would say I'm closer to 150lbs overweight. Does anyone know how fit one has to be (should be...) to donate a kindey and 1) the kidney be healthy, and 2) for me to remain healthy? Other thoughts to consider for being overweight and interested in being a donor would be appreciated too.
