Posting for my mom (and yes, I know it's a long shot!). "What's the story behind the 'Nathaniel, we will always love you' sign posted on the side of a large utility trailer parked in the Coastal Plaza parking lot in Tillamook, Oregon?"

I'm looking for a local store that carries Nepalese hats (the kind with ear flaps and a tassle). Found lots on line, but I'd prefer to shop in person for this so I can try a bunch on before picking the pattern. REI appears to carry them, I'd prefer something along the smallish
import store style. (Can one really shop local for an import item?) Location - I'm in Oregon, between Salem and Eugene, so recommendations in either city would be fine.

Could someone point me in the right direction to find out about any housing coops in Portland, Oregon? I've done the requisite Google search, and all I seem to be finding looks more like commune than coop. [more inside]
