when I use a discount code for online delivery, what happens?

When I use a discount code on a food delivery website (seamless/grubhub/delivery.com) does that money get taken out of the website's cut, the restaurant's payment for food (or the delivery guy's tip?), or is it split somehow, or what? [more inside]

Movies/television shows: Ordering food or drinks in an outrageous manner

I am looking for suggestions where characters order food or drinks in an outrageous manner. The scene can take place at a restaurant or bar (not a private party). Their behavior can be funny, rude, or just strange. It is not about what they order, but how they do it. [more inside]

Order of names in a letter signature matter when sent from a couple?

My wife and I were writing a brief thank-you note to some friends, and she was helping to edit. I then signed it off as 'Arandia & Wife' -- only my wife says that it should be 'Wife & Arandia', since *I* wrote the letter and it is coming from my email address. [more inside]

purchasing position but no format

I will start at the beginning. The company that I work for has 15 minor surgical sites and add to that many clinics. So this company has never had a purchasing manager before, each site purchased supplies directly and nobody was watching the supplier for errors, low and behold, years later they realize they have been getting ripped off.... You ordered the cupcakes, right? Right?

For our son's 2nd birthday party, my wife ordered cupcakes from a bakery online for delivery to our son's daycare but they didn't show up. My wife was crushed and was understandably angry at the bakery, especially since she said she had paid for the cupcakes. But when I tried the online ordering form, there was no place to input any payment information. However, after submitting the form the company says it would get in contact for confirmation and payment information. It looks like the company didn't follow up with my wife, but also that my wife didn't follow up with the company. Is someone clearly at fault? How should I handle both my wife and the company? The McDonald's Counter Rush Job. Why?

Why is it that at McDonald's they rush you into ordering as soon as possible? Specifically, if I'm the only person in the store who hasn't ordered and I'm away from the counter deciding what to order, they'll shout at me say, "Can I help you sir?" This only happens at McDonald's. [more inside]

My mother just wants her damn vase.

Last November, my mother ordered a decorating piece online. It never arrived. We have been trying to reach the distributors with very little success. My mother seems unable or uninterested in disputing the credit card charges. If she continues to refuse this route, can I pursue any other options that will compel this company to deal with us? Life is uncertain. Eat dessert [never?]."

Waitress etiquette: I work at a diner that's only open one day a week (at an auction arena). We're a close-knit group (employees and customers). How can we order lunch?

My company (75 people) orders lunch from the same place every day. The receptionist sends out an email to everyone in the morning, and people respond with what they want for lunch. She then takes all of these food requests and calls them in to the sandwich shop. At the end of the day, she then has to tally up how much everyone spent. It then comes off of your paycheck. How can we make this easier? It takes a considerable amount of the receptionists time! [more inside]

How can I get one of these eyeball webcams without reading Japanese?

For obvious reasons, I want this. The problem is that I don't read Japanese. I've tried Google, but searching "eyeball webcam" doesn't really narrow down results.

Is there a caring, Japan residing MeFite that can help me accomplish this goal?
