.org-Filter: What's a good free financial management platform for a non-profit startup?

Seeking open-source (free) financial management software for a not-for-profit start up. Has anyone used something they were pleased with? The company is promoting Improvisational Comedy in the Kansas City area, if that matters at all. We are also officially a 501(c)3 status company so we actually are not-for-profit, meaning we can accept tax write-off-able donations and such.

Thanks for looking.

The organizations website can be found at City3.org.

Solutions for building a photo rating website?

Does anybody have any experience with "rate my _blank_" type photo rating software? Specifically, I'm looking at MiPhoto or an open-source alternative with a similar set of features. Suggestions from the hive mind? So, I know it's a really Web1.0 thing, but I'm looking for advice or suggestions on photo rating software, for use on a site along the lines of a "rate my cat/dog/shoes/whatever" type website.

Right now, the front (and only) runner for me is MiPhoto.

The catch is, I'm trying to do this on a very small budget. While I can probably afford to shell out for MiPhoto Pro, I'd love to find an open-source way to do this. But, if an open-source or lower priced alternative exists, I haven't been able to find it. I'm looking for a more-or-less off the shelf solution.

I'm nervous because the example sites listed on the MiPhoto website seem less than impressive. I don't know if it's the software itself, or just crappy content.

So, ringing endorsements? Suggestions for alternatives? Link to some kickass Joomla plugin that I've missed?

Open-source journal software

Does anyone know of a software package, preferably open source, that would be good for managing an on-line academic journal? I would need it to handle both presentation on-line and submissions through a complicated back-end. One necessary feature would be categories for articles (features/book reviews/articles/notices/etc). Other features I would like would be a feature for user-authenticated discussion of articles and PDF export. The backend would ideally be pretty complicated, taking submissions, allowing an editor to delegate them to a pool of reviewers who would be notified by email when a new submission waits to be reviewed, collecting comments from reviewers, and notifying authors when acceptance/rejection/comments are available.

I figure this is a lot to ask, but it's such an established process that it's gotta be out there somewhere.

video stream automation

I'm looking for a video stream automation application, preferably open-source but I'm interesting in any suggestions. More than a playlist, less than a rack full of industry-standard hardware. For example, there is the popular SAM2 for audio which does scheduling, scripting, weighting, etc. Is there anything like this out there for the prosumer-level video broadcaster? I'm currently using Apple Quicktime Broadcaster and Darwin Streaming Server running on Linux. Any OS will do for the new broadcasting/playlist solution.
