I'll be getting a net refund of about $300 from my fed & state tax returns and would like to invest it in some short-term way -- my wife and I are going to San Francisco for a conference in August, and I'm guessing we'll have about $500 in leftover costs once my work-related stuff is reimbursed. I'd like to turn that $300 into whatever I can to help cover those costs. Yesterday's report that gas will likely hit US$3 this summer points me in that direction. [more inside]
