My fiancé and I have decided to elope. We want to get married on April Fool's day (aka Monday), as we're fools in love. We have a marriage license. What we don't have is an officiant.

I'm getting married this summer, in a small, casual, non-religious wedding. We're not planning to have a wedding party, and haven't been able to come up with any good ideas for an officiant, so we're probably going to try to do without one of those as well. Have you done something similar? How will the logistics work out here?

My fiance and I are planning to get married next year, and we would like to ask a dear family friend to officiate the wedding. I want to know if there are any drawbacks/difficulties that we may not have thought of.

What options do we have for a wedding officiant in Chicago?
We're planning a really small wedding cocktail party next fall. We'd like to do something to mark the occasion with our families and friends and expect to have a ring/vow exchange. However, the groom is not remotely religious and the setting will not be solemn. Therefore, we are unsure what options we have for an officiant. We don't a ceremony lasting more than 10-15 minutes.

Getting married in two months. Fiancée's male best friend is officiating. I suspect he still has feelings for her. Tell me I'm crazy (or not) for irrationally worrying that he'll pull a "grand romantic gesture".

What key studies should I pursue to improve myself in order to become an effective and dynamic wedding officiant?
I was ordained in 2002, but have only recently begun to perform marriages. At first, I officiated without fees for close friends but now the requests for my services are snowballing.

I'm about to be the officiate my best friend's wedding (first gig) and I was hoping to find some inspiration for the wedding ceremony. I've known the bride since 5th grade and her husband-to-be since he moved across the country to be with her over 6 years ago. Neither of them is religious, one of them is atheist, but some of family has a strong sense in God. Does anyone have some links to fitting wedding ceremony scripts or a great story from personal experience? They're both fairly silly people, so unconventional is okay.

Need a wedding officiant in the sf bay area. I've looked through google ads, craigslist, and celebrantsusa.com listings but haven't found anyone who seems sane yet has a sense of showmanship. We're not interested in deputizing a friend.

The wonderful, fantastic, exhilarating news is that we're getting married in Chicago in June. The less-good news is that we live in different cities, neither of which is anywhere near Chicago. So we could use a little help putting together the pieces, like florists, photographers, DJs, and oh yeah someone to actually do the marrying. And we've like got four months to do it in.
