Planning and Atlanta wedding. Well...trying to

Another wedding question... So, newly engaged, which is awesome, but now that we've started trying to plan it, I feel so incredibly overwhelmed...and not in a good way. The first thing we need to do is figure out where. We have a budget of $5000 max, and every place I have researched or contacted has been at minimum $2000-$3000, and 90% of these would force us to use their own caterers and vendors. We are ready to try something nonstandard, but I have never even been to a wedding before, so...we am having problems coming up with ideas for a small wedding and reception of like 50 people max. Help me plan a surreal vacation

I'm visiting Denver later this month and am curious about what the city has to offer that is unique and offbeat in a specific way. I like the kitschy/cheesy, I love the weird/slightly spooky. My best trips to strange cities have involved: antique fairs and curio shops, museums centered around one niche concept, rambly old graveyards, outsider art in all forms, graffitied ruins and abandoned spaces, anything historical that focuses on the everyday experiences of common people. How weird is it for an office to lack a desk?

I would like to take the big, corner desk out of my office and instead have a couch, along with a laptop table that I can use as needed. Or maybe a small stand-up desk off to the side. I am wondering what the outside perception might be, as well as any potential problems I may not have considered. [more inside]

Setting up weird-news email alert for just OR and WA?

How can I set up an automatic email notification thing for news-of-the-weird type stuff as it happens in Oregon and Washington (not DC)? Google alerts doesn't seem this customizable. CNN news alerts do, maybe. Any other options?

Surely there's weirdness in NE PA?
