How to get rid of (not cover) a burnt plastic smell in my microwave?

How do I get rid of a really strong burnt-plastic smell from the inside of my microwave? I recently put a plastic container that had a blatantly inaccurate 'microwave safe' symbol into the microwave. And it turned into a molten, burnt, mound of Brown Rice N' Plastic. It filled my apartment with smoke and smell, and while open windows and fans have resolved that problem in the apartment, the horrible smell is still incredibly intense inside the microwave itself.

How can i get rid of the smell? I don't want to just cover it, I want it to be GONE!

Removing smells from paper

I have an antique photo album that stinks and I am looking for tips to neutralise the smell... I buy and sell vintage photographs in my spare time but have never come across this problem before. I came into possession of a card photo album, 100yrs old, full of excellent photographs, but I am unable to sell it on because it reeks of mothballs. I've sold musty stuff in the past, but this is offensive and would clear a room...

Obviously I have to protect the photos and the album itself so dousing it in perfume isn't really an option. Anybody got any tips for getting rid or masking the smell without inflicting damage? I'm really looking for some kitchen sink wisdom passed down from Grandma rather than expensive products/conservation materials. Thanks.

Smelly House

HomeDeodorantFilter: My friend recently moved into a new place where the prior tenants had left a rather strong scent. She's tried airing the place out, air fresheners, a few candles here and there, but nothing really gets the smell out for good. Any tips?

What's the best way to get rid of lingering odors?

What's the best way to get rid of lingering odors? I just recently moved back from the clean air and good-smelling Prairies to Toronto after a few years, and have lost the ability that most big city people seem to have to filter out the pervasive "big city" odors.

We live in a great neighbourhood, but our house is right on a major thoroughfare, which creates the constant, low-level smell of exhaust and cars throughout our apartment.

Would buying an air purifier help to remove this smell? Or is there any other, non-chemical way to help relieve our noses of the stink?

Removing Skunk Odor

Skunkfilter: Ewww. There's a skunk under my office (which is in a trailer-house). It stinks. How do I get rid of the thing? When I've done that, how do I get rid of the stench? (Or will it just go away in time?) Lord, this is nasty.
