Shirts and Prints that go Squee!!

Seeking cute apparel/prints for online purchase, in the vein of boygirlparty and Nut and Bee :) Hiya! I'm looking for some cute shirts, or possibly even prints/stationery. I couldn't resist the octotee from boygirlparty, and there are some prints that make me squee inside. I also have Moo cards featuring art from Nut and Bee, and I am looking very forward for their shirts in the coming months. (Squee Exhibit A, B, and C.)

Can you recommend any other sites with similarly cute artwork/clothes for sale? The common theme I am seeing so far is happy smiley animals. Especially octopuses. This isn't a requirement, but it seems to work! Thanks! :>

Disclaimer: I am a hetero male and can only pull off so much cuteness. (i.e. I'm not exactly looking for Hello Kitty-type stuff.) Also, if you recommend Threadless for t-shirts I will politely decline and then proceed to give you the evil eye. ;)

I want to play with your octopus (literally)

I am a biology student at the University of Utah specializing in animal behavior, and I have a particular interest in cephalopods (squid, octopi, cuttlefish.) Everything I know about them is from reading, and I would love to have the opportunity to observe one in real life, and perhaps even interact with it if that would be possible. Does anyone in the Salt Lake area have a pet octopus or know of one that I might be able to meet?

Elusive Cephalopod

Can anyone help me find a screengrab of the octopus on the end of Wednesday's bed (from the movie version of The Addams Family)? My google-fu is failing me. I'd just go out and buy the dvd and do a screengrab myself, but suprisingly there is no R2 release of this movie! I'm planning on using the image as a starting point for a t-shirt illustration.

Where can I eat live squid/octopus in Los Angeles, or California in general? I wanna eat a live cephalopod like he does in Old Boy. Does such a exotic delicacy exist in Koreatown? What about up north in the Bay Area? I want it alive and moving, not just raw like sushi.

Crispy tasty bumble bees

What is the name and recipe if possible for the crispy black octopus I used to eat in Singapore when I was a child? My family called them bees, because they looked like fried bumble bees (and I guess fried bees seem more appealing to eat for a kid than baby octopus). The most remarkable thing about them was thay they were sweet and crispy and dark.

I have tried googling, but without a name have had no joy.

A recipe would be great too, as I am wanting to perfect the dish for this summers family get together.

Tears of Octopussy Rage

Is it possible to annoy an animal/person to death? Greetings, metafilterinians!

I recall reading in a children's science book that it was possible to kill an octopus by:

a) Biting or cutting a nerve behind the eye of the octopus

or

b) Annoying the thing to death. The term used was "apoplectic" or "apoplexy" which is an old term for stroke. The book itself used the words "annoy/anger to death", presumably by causing stroke.

Is this possible? Is it just restricted to octopuses?

Fried Octopus Balls, anyone?

Does anybody living near Portland, Oregon know where I can find the Osakan delicacy of fried octopus balls? (no, not that kind of balls!!!1!) Recently, I watched a couple of anime series which featured really lovingly drawn images of Japanese food. Ever since viewing the ubercute Azumanga Daioh, I've had this obsession with tracking down the live action versions of the featured yummy num nums. Fried octopus balls have thus far proven elusive.

Do they need shade?

So, I am thinking about putting together an aquarium for keeping octopuses. I have never had an aquarium before. Is this just a hare-brained idea with no chance of success?
