The NYT used to offer the option for registered users to save articles to a "locker" (I think that was the term).
About 6 months or so ago I was looking for a recipe that I knew I'd saved. My "locker" was gone! [more inside]

In this NYT article about the new This American Life TV show, the writer uses the term "mosh-up". It seems to be synonymous with how I think of "mash-up". Is this an invention of the writer? Is it just a play on "mash-up"? Is one term older than the other? [more inside]

Everyone knows the New York Times requires you to register to read articles. Occasionally, I see people link to the article as well as to some slimmed-down bandwidth version for PDAs or RSS feeds or something. How do I make a link like that? When I find a New York Times article URL on the web, is there somewhere I can copy and paste that into that'll show me the slimmed-down version?

What makes a bestseller? Something I've never understood is why different publications have different bestseller list. I mean, either the book sells X copies or it doesn't, right? How can it be on one bestseller list and not another? The only thing I can think of is that the NYT list is referring to sales in NY and WaPo concerns itself with it's own state, etc. But that doesn't make much sense. {more} [more inside]

Why do the most professional news web sites so often - and increasingly often - include bad or wrong links? I'm talking NYT, WP, Daily Telegraph and Google News et al. (For a recent example, click on the Researching the New Joy of Sex highlight in today's Observer and you get this.)

Is this an April Fool's joke, or not? The New York Times (reg. req.) appears to think that it isn't, but it's on this list of online April Fool's jokes.
