NYCfilter: I'm heading up to the Big Apple this weekend as I got a free plane ticket for my birthday and was looking for a few different things to do since I've been there a few times before. I'm interested in finding out about three things: a unique dining experience, something to do on the 4th, and a great jazz club. [more inside]

I'll be arriving at Penn Station in NYC about 4 hours prior to an appointment about a mile away on 66th street.
What would you do if you had 4 hours to kill in that area?
If the weather continues to suck, suggestions for a coffee shop with free wifi?

In an effort to avoid spending half my trip to NYC in the line-up at TKTS, I'd found the www.entertainment-link.com site, for discount theatre tickets. Problem is, I can't find much info on it, and I'm nervous i'll be handing my credit card number to some nefarious entity. Anyone have any experience with the site, or, alternatively, another recommendation for avoiding long TKTS lines? [more inside]

For anyone in the NYC area, you know those spray paint artists who make the "galaxy" pictures? They're usually around Time Square, making their pictures for crowds and selling them. Do you know what this style of art is called? [more inside]

I am in NYC for the first time and I've done nearly everything that was on my list to do. The only things I am missing are a great slice of pizza (new york style, of course) and a bagel that will knock my socks off. For an added bonus, I'd like to do it on the cheap. I'm staying in Brooklyn, but the neighborhood isn't terribly important.

I'd like to bike around the Manhattan waterfront, starting and ending at the GWB, using the official greenway path
(pdf). My question is about those sections in red and blue: will I be biking through traffic? Having never ridden a bike through NYC traffic, am I putting myself in danger? How long would the entire thing take? Related question: has anyone ridden a bike across the GWB recently? It's legal
, though they make it sound like it's teeming with pedestrian.

I've been living in my apartment since December, and I still haven't received an electric bill from ConEd. It was made clear that we had to sign up to receive power and we did that -- my wife called in, gave them her social security number, address, etc. Still, no bill. The meter man comes by every month and checks the meter. Still, no bill. [more inside]

I'm looking for a bluegrass mandolin and/or guitar teacher in new york city - specifically someone near Columbia University or on the upper west side (or who would travel there for lessons).
Have tried finding one on craig's list and looked at flyers at music stores.
Any suggestions on how to find such a teacher, or knowledge of such a person?
