A New York client has asked for a group of names (3 to 6) with which to market some high-end luxury residences in Midtown. The previous theme was "theater" and they'd like something different. The residences are 30+ floors up. Unfortunately the setting is pretty sleek and anonymous. I haven't been to the city in a year and without a theme, my creative fu is completely failing. (Once I have that, the individual names will probably come.) Perhaps you have some ideas? Many thanks.

I got the interview! But I don't have a private area at my current job to take the phone call. Can anyone recommend somewhere within a 10-minute walk from 39th Street at 8th Ave where I could count on quiet and good cell phone reception? I'd be willing to pay for it if I have to, though not what a Times Square hotel room would cost.

Dear NYC-Hive: Visiting in Feb and would like to find listings of theatres whose offerings are like Lucille Lortel Theater in the Village. Would prefer Manhattan locations (over other boroughs). They just did "Volpone" and are doing "She Stoops to Conquer" soon. But they also do new works as well. What are similar theaters? And bonus points if you can give me a link to calendar/listings.

Where can I find bulk or low cost religious icons, candles, rosaries, etc in NYC by New Years Eve? Santeria type stuff is good, and I'm also specifically looking for dozens of affordable rosaries...
Doing a combo photo shoot/event and need a lot of religious idolatry to outfit a space.
Thanks in advance

What are the economics of the tons of small manicure/pedicure spas and their employees in Manhattan? There are multiple places on many blocks, and when I pass them there always seems to be at least a dozen technicians in each, most of whom are just waiting for the next customer.

What is the copyright status of works created by the New York City government? Specifically works created by the Department of Health or similar agencies, concerning vital statistics and similar public data? (That is, indices to vital records but not actual vital records, which are protected by privacy restrictions.) Does it make a difference if the records and books were published more than 50 years ago? 40 years ago?

The Short: I'm a single young adult with a college degree and student loan debt. I live in a sterile small city with limited job prospects. I want to move out and get an entry-level or temporary job in a coastal U.S. city (NYC, LA, SF, Seattle). Please walk me through the logistics and help me devise a plan, as well as offer any advice you have on making it on your own in a new city (essentially, how to be an independent, self-sufficient adult).

Help me plan a relatively carefree (yet amazing!) trip to NYC! From Ottawa (potentially by car) in January or in a later month. Looking for a place to stay that won't drain bank accounts and sights to see with someone who has never been. Bonus points if anyone can suggest a fun route there and back. Time limit: I'm only going for a weekend.

I have some vacation days I need to use this year and I want to go somewhere where I can spend a few days alone and get my mind off things. I also enjoy spending time at museums and art galleries.
So I am thinking about staying in NYC for three or four nights and basically just visit MoMA everyday. Is this doable and advisable?
