Another gift thread: I'm looking for NYC-centric gift ideas for Christmas. Anything from a bag of pistachios from Zabar's to...who knows! You name it. I am trying to stay under $50.

I want to do volunteer work in NYC when I have discretionary time. I'm not sure what I want to, but whatever it is it can't have a fixed schedule, as my work hours tend to be erratic. Basically I'm looking to volunteer on short notice. Any suggestions?

NYC Filter: This past week I realize I must be living under a rock. I had no idea Jay-Z was performing, nor did I know it was the San Gennaro festival until I accidentally ran into it this weekend.
What do you do or follow to keep up with upcoming festivals, concerts, and the like?

NYC Filter: I'm looking for some new hangouts. Can anyone recommend a chill place for mingling and a drink on a Sunday night? Extra points if it's outside to take advantage of this weather.

I have to start up an LLC or S-Corp. How do I begin this process? Also, if you have experience with a good accountant in NYC who is familiar with this process, care to pass a recommendation?

I see a few pieces of large furniture on NYC Craigslist I want to purchase. Are there movers in NYC who would take care of single-item, inter-borough moves like this for a decent price? And to follow up, are movers like this insured in case they do any damage during the move?

I am self-employed and my work schedule has been erratic as of recently. I am looking to supplement my income, and I was thinking about bartending.
Is this a viable option here in NYC for a guy who has to go to bartending school first? And furthermore, can anyone recommend a good bartending school in the area?

There is little to no insulation between the ceiling of my apartment, and the floor of the apartment above me. I am looking for a way to drown out the noise from my upstairs neighbor. Can anyone, for the sake of my sanity, recommend something that generates enough noise to drown her out?
