Can a transcendental number such as pi, be raised to an irrational, but algebraic power resulting in an algebraic solution? Complex solutions would be acceptable. There might be a quick proof here, or there might not be. - Thanks for any help you can offer answering this! (And I promise that this isn't for a class or anything like that!)

Multiple collection agencies have been calling my house for years asking for some dude we have never heard of. Telling Agency A this doesn't prevent Agencies B, C, D, and so on from calling anyway. The Attorney General told me we're SOL. What can I do?

My iPhone 4 was stolen. The police detectives want the IMEI number. I never backed up the phone or synced it to my computer, so I can't access the IMEI through iTunes. I don't have the original packaging. I do, however, have the phone's serial number. Is there a way to somehow use this number to get the IMEI?

I used Textfree on my iPad and have a US number. I've since moved to Canada and I'm wondering if my friends in the US will now be charged when they text me? In other words, does it matter where I'm physically located? It's free for me but I'm concerned there might be costs on the other end.

I've ordered a dress on behalf of the wife and it is being made and shipped from the Ukraine.
They have given us a tracking number, but I suspect it is an incorrect one:
The number supplied starts with RA, then has 9 digits and ends with UA.
I've looked at the USPS Track & Confirm page and there is no RA suffix, only RE - and they always end in US, not UA
So have I been given bogus info ?

A friend recently had a birthday, but because of her age, they couldn't really fit enough candles on the cake without it becoming absurd, so they represented her age by using the number of candles in the digits of her age—a group of five on the left, three on the right for 53. Is there a name for that kind of representation of a number?

A couple of wannabe college students showed up at my door asking if I would be interested in a $1,500 home security system and lifetime service in exchange for posting a security company sign in my front yard. They left me a card to fill out that asked for all my crucial information, including social security number and date of birth, that had boxes to check for accepting, or rejecting, the promotional offer. The card they left didn't have the name of the alarm company on it, a website address, phone number, nada.
What do the guys get out of it? The company pays them $500 toward their tuition for every customer they sign up.
What does the company get out of it? Supposedly, free lawn signeage/advertising.

I'm trying to find part number(s) to repair a sideswiped passenger side mirror on a 2009 Ford Focus.
Most of the mirror is intact, so I'd like to replace only the piece that clips the mirror into the holder cavity. If this isn't possible, I'll grudgingly pony up for the whole mirror assembly.
Bonus question: is there a place to buy the part in Orlando, FL before Sunday?
Thanks!

When I was a child there used to be cryptic messages on BBC Radio Four between the news and weather etc. that were weird and cryptic (as in they shouldn't have been on mainstream radio), but dull - stuff like "Mrs. Smith from Doncaster needs to contact her family in Hull".
I have been told they were used for spies to communicate - does anyone know any more about this? I think it's something like
those code words on the Tube that get announced if there's something going on.
And numbers stations of course!
