What's happening in Chicago on Saturday, 11/29/09?

What fun things are there to do in Chicago this Saturday (11/28/09) if you're in a hotel near Midway with no access to a car? A buddy of mine and I are going to be in Chicago for 24 hours this weekend for a gig. We fly in at 2pm on Saturday and have free time until 10pm that night.

We'll be at the Marriott on the south end of Midway.

What museums, shows, bars or festivities are worth checking out? How's public transit in that area, or is it better to take a cab wherever I end up going? How much will it cost to get me to where the fun is?

What would YOU do for fun if you had 8 hours to kill in Chicago this weekend, but no car? We're open to checking out multiple destinations, as long as it's not too cost prohibitive.

I need to be back at the hotel by 10pm and then I fly home at 11am on Sunday.

Thanks, and have a happy Thanskgiving!

Please hope us find some snow!

My wife and I would like to go snowshoeing in Colorado. Next week. Where, if at all, could we find enough snow? Leaving from Albuquerque, NM, we'd like to take a quickie 3-day trip to Colorado and go snowshoeing somewhere next weekend. Proximity to a town with a hotel would be nice, but not a necessity -- camping in snow is fine. The more off-the-beaten-path, the better -- we have a 4WD and snow-chains, and would gladly drive to avoid crowds of people.

Added difficulty: we're taking our 3 dogs, so national parks are out.

I see plenty of ski reports showing snow accumulation, but it's hard to tell whether that is referring to man-made snow. I can't find any Internet resources that describe natural, real-time snow depth at altitude in, say, Arapaho Natl. Forest or similar. I'm hoping some MeFite living there can provide an on-the-spot report, and maybe even recommend an awesome trail. Or inform me that finding any appreciable snow cover in November is hopeless.

Any ideas?

Movember spawned a question

Movember Playlist. Help me compile a playlist of songs with "November" in the title or featuring prominently in the song. So far I've got Cold Movember Rain by Guns n Roses, Movember Spawned a Monster by Morrissey and Fall Into Movember by Folk Implosion.

There must be more. Bonus points for references to moustaches!
