Note 3 owners - do you use the stylus?

I am looking at getting a new phone with a big-ass screen, primarily for browsing. I've narrowed it down to an LG Pro 2, Sony T2 Ultra, or Galaxy Note 3 - but I need to know if anyone actually uses the space-age stylus. [more inside]

Lyrics don't start when I expect them to in a song - is there a name?

In the song Dark Storm by The Jezabels (YouTube link), the first 25 seconds are a neat little bass (guitar?) riff. When I listen, it sounds like the very first note, the highest pitch note, is the first note of the measure, and that it should repeat like that throughout the song. But does it? [more inside]

What should a doctor's note say so that I can acheive my morbid obesity fitness goal?

Obese and diabetic is no way to go through life son, so I want/need/have to exercise. Problem: Most entities (exercise programs, gyms, trainers) want a doctor's note from me to prove I won't drop fucking dead while attempting to exercise. I want to get a note (one singular note) from my doctor that will allow me to participate in as many different exercise programs as possible. What should the note say? [more inside]

Music for God to play before creating the universe

Everybody recognizes the THX deep note sound. Last night, at Nuit Blanche here in Montreal, and just before the fireworks, they were playing recorded instrumental music (with no percussion) featuring long drawn out notes that were as "rich" and exciting as the deep note sound. The music filled me with a thrilling anticipation of something powerful. What music could I have been hearing? What songs do I want to get?

What is the looooong high-pitched tone in old techno songs called?

In older techno tunes, it was common have a single high-pitched note held for a really long time in songs (sometimes through the entire song). Electronica has a ton of terms, from "amen breaks" to "acid", but is there a word (or are there multiple commonly used words) for that note?

Government bonds

I'm trying to find any example of what a U.S. Treasury security might look like (T-bill, T-note, or T-bond, but not a savings bond). I understand most treasury bonds are electronic now, but it wasn't always that way. The Treasury FAQ says that paper versions still exist. Google Image turns up nothing but oodles of financial graphs no matter what I do. Nothing over 100 years old, please! Versions of this from other countries are fine as long as I can read them in English and they're recent.

Help me translate guitar tabs into piano sheet music

As I begin to learn the piano again, there are some songs I'd love to try to play but for which I cannot find sheet music (I definitely want to learn to play by ear at some point, but I don't think that point would best be now). I can however obtain guitar tabs for the songs, and so I'm hoping to try to translate those into rough sheet music for the piano. Can I just translate it note by note (and chord by chord), or are there some specifics about guitar tabs I should be aware about and take into account (it seems that way, a quick direct translation didn't seem to turn out quite right)?
