I am in China and my SO is in USA. we both use the app WECHAT a lot to keep in touch.. wechat is a very popular app in China as a social utility that connects people with friends on mobiles phones.
but since 2 months ago, i could not view the full images of the pictures he have sent me and could not download them. we can still send each other text messages and he can recieve the pictures i have sent to him. And i can view and download other pictures my chinese friends sent me. i think this is strange. does anyone know why it happens or how to fix it?

I've just bought my first home and moved into my new place (hooray!). I've never had a dishwasher before and as such, I haven't used it once during my first week of living in the new place.
This weekend though, I ran the dishwasher for the first time and urgh, once the cycle was finished, I opened the door and the dishwasher was still full of water :(
What is the likely cause and can I fix it myself?
Also, all appliances in the house were supposed to be in working order.... do I have any leg to stand on in asking the seller about this?

I love my part-time job, but it doesn't pay the bills. In order for it to become a full-time job that pays the bills, I have to go back to school and get a master's (library science - yay for very little career opportunities!). In order to go back to school, I need to get a full time job and earn some money to pay for school. I just accepted a full time office assistant position in a law firm. I'm not excited at all. Help! Hi all, my Sony Xperia J isn't reading sim cards. The sim card (3) that came with the phone works on other phones; the Xperia won't read other sim cards. What can I do to get this handset working? This is my work phone and I'm the breadwinner around here, so it's a bit urgent! Thanks. I've got two Win7 PCs to assist in fixing it.

I'm looking for lines of dialogue from movies, novels, or elsewhere, in which someone says that something is not an X, even though it is
an X, just not a mere X or typical X. An example of the type of exchange I'm looking for: "Wow, you spent a year's salary on a car?" "A car? This is isn't a car
. It's a Lamborghini!" The second person knows that their Lamborghini is a car, but means to express that it isn't just
a car. (It's important for my purposes that the person doesn't say 'just'.) There must be some recognizable instances of this type of speech, but I'm drawing a blank. Any ideas?

In the past year, a lot of networking opportunities have involved drinking. "Let's grab a drink together," "We're having drinks and reading our work at my place," "You should grab a drink with my friend so-and-so, he'll tell you the downlow on this job," etc. Which is all fine and dandy except for the drinking bit... how do I decline to drink and still take advantage of these? I just ran a red light in Brooklyn and was pulled over by police. I was given a ticket and the officer urged me to plead not guilty and to attend the scheduled court date and pay the citation otherwise I'd be hit with 6 points to my license. Why did the officer recommend pleading not guilty? And what should I expect in a Brookly TVB court? [more inside]

I'm learning English. Could you tell me the difference between "not bad" and " not half bad "?? It means, "very good"? If there is a kind of different nuance between the two, please show me how to use them.

I had a great idea the other day that would require a little bit of simple programming and engineering, but I have no background in either of those. Basically, I'd like to make a USB device with a little motor that vibrates at several different specific frequencies, determined by the user (preferably through the computer). Where do I even start? When I try to create a tab using Filemaker Pro 8.0v2 on my Mac (OS version 10.4.11), it displays correctly in "edit" mode. But when I enter data-entry mode, FM "sees through" the tab - and displays all fields (from all the tabs) stacked on top of one another. Clicking the other tabs, I see the same thing - all fields stacked. [more inside]
