I'm looking to set up a personal account in a local bank in Washington state. I want to work with a bank that does local business and isn't laundering hundreds of billions of dollars for drug cartels (or insert whatever other horrifying banking scandal comes to mind.) I need a bank with office and ATM locations in the Northwest part of the state, and ideally they'd have an ATM sharing agreement with banks/credit unions in other parts of the country (and Canada? does that happen?)

A poorly-maintained ex Ornamental Carp Pond in Kenmore, Washington has unexpectedly become home to three lovely amphibians, 3-4 inches long. Brownish bodies, greenish heads (the green could be due to algae and weeds.) The most distinguishing feature of these little guys is a sound I have never heard a frog make: a "yowp" or "yelp" noise, which they make when they are startled into jumping back into the pond. Any clues?

At the corner of 2nd Street NW and H Street NW in Washington, DC, there is a large, rectangular tower painted to look as though it has a window through it with a view of the Capitol. What is it, and why is it there?

I need a hotel or a resort, a very special resort. Within a 5 hour drive of Seattle (but not on the ocean itself -- we're going there later in the summer), a big comfortable lobby/lounge to play games, read, talk. Something nice outside, but really, in the Pacific Northwest, that's pretty much a given. Old and funky is fine, new and posh also fine. I'm looking for something memorable.

Does anybody have a recommendation for a printshop in the northwest United States that could print a large number of cmyk stickers with a custom diecut? The estimate I got from my usual vendor was crazy expensive.

Growing up in Washington state in the 70’s and 80’s I watched a PBS show about a grandma that visited sites of interest (Columbia Gorge, White Bird Pass, etc.) in the Northwest with her grandchildren. Production quality, as I remember it, was rather crude. Does anyone else remember this show? What was the name? Thanks!

I've heard several times from different sources how the NorthWest of America, and the Seattle area in particular, is a hotspot for serial killers. Is there any truth to this? Or is it just a reflection of the high profile of the Ted Bundy case? And if it is the case (or even if it isn't) has anyone offered any explanations?

What should we do and where should we go to make our 15th wedding anniversary one to remember? It's in early March, and we'd like to stay in the Pacific Northwest area. We plan to take a 3-day weekend, so a bit of a drive or short flight is in order.

In late May, I'll be driving with a bunch of friends in an RV from
Sacramento CA to George WA and back for the Sasquatch Music Festival. I've only driven as far north as the Oregon border before, so I'm looking for recommendations of interesting places to stop - your favorite diners, pie shops, waterfalls, hot springs (improved or not) and other oddities of northwest highway culture. I'm familar with many Northern California hot springs (I really like the one in
Sierraville), and would love to find other very inexpensive and informal places like that.
