It's an animated short from (probably) Liquid Television in the early nineties. It's got explorers on ships that find a new world and change the natives with religion and money. It's backed by an old song in Spanish from a scratchy record that I can remember no words to. [more inside]

It's been six years. Do you have, or does anyone you know use a term, in conversation, comparable to 'the nineties' or 'the eighties' for this decade?

Double-barreled nineties independent musician question: what ever happened to the band Guv'ner and the singer Jenny Mae? Guv'ner's third album was re-released in 2003, but as far as I know there hasn't been a new peep out of either of these acts since 1998. Does anybody know anything different?

Can you name these tunes?
1. This one sounds like movie music, but I haven't been able to track it down.
2. I think this is the bonus track on Spell's "Mississippi" album. Can anyone verify?
3. This was recorded off a college radio station in Lowell MA in the early 90s. It's a mix of a song, and a woman speaking about pleasuring herself (the "I am satisfied" parts..... Can anyone find the source of either?
4. And another one from the same mix tape...

Attention mid-90s earworm pop fans: Alizee's "Moi Lolita" was widely released in 2002, but I swear I recognize that bass-line, and it's driving me absolutely crazy. Can anyone figure out what song I'm thinking of? I'm guessing something like Ace of Base, Aqua or even Daft Punk...
