Just went to the filming of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart in New York yesterday. While waiting to enter the studio, the staff told us that if we took any literature from this particular old man standing on the sidewalk, that we would not be allowed in to the filming. What's the full story there?

In 1934, could you travel by rail from New York City to Paterson, NJ? What route would you have taken, with which train-lines? If you could not have traveled by rail, would there have been a bus route?

I'm looking for recommendations for a location in New York or southern New England to have a 3 day/2 night unconference for a 25-30 folks max, relatively close to transportation. I'm envisioning something like a camp with cabins, electricity, a usable kitchen, and a common room for meals and discussion space. Most importantly, it needs to be cheap.

Renter's insurance and travel, special libelous snowflake edition: I live in New York City and want renter's insurance that (a) covers libel and (b) will cover my wife's nice (~$2k with lenses) camera *when she is travelling*. I can't get a straight answer out of any insurance companies on what their policies actually cover. Can anyone recommend a company?

I'll be spending two days in Manhattan, all by my lonesome. I'm not interested in gettin' my culture on. What should I do? My boyfriend bought me a night in a Midtown hotel. Awww. However, my stay has to take place this weekend (Fri./Sat.), when he'll be unavailable to join me. I'm shy/nerdy, so this puts the kibosh on super-social activities. However, I'm ALSO not terribly interested in seeing any museums/cultural attractions on this trip. Don't get me wrong - those things are delightful! - but it's spring break, so I'd like my trip to be a lil' more indulgent/eclectic/badass.
