Tell me about Ronkonkoma

I'm moving to Suffolk County, Long Island soon, and Ronkonkoma has been suggested as a good place to live given my household's daily commuting needs (me via car to Stony Brook, my partner via LIRR to Manhattan). But we know nothing about that town or that area, and looking at other sites for info (like city-data) hasn't given us much insight. Please, tell us what you know about living in Ronkonkoma. Bringing an out of state car to New York

In a month or so, I will be buying a used car from a relative in a far away state to bring to New York state (not city). What do I need to do to be in compliance with the law, regarding insurance and registration? I already have a NY state license.

Best NYC clothes stores for larger guys? Goal: step up from jeans & tees

Which clothing stores in NYC have good casual/business casual clothes for larger men? My boyfriend and I are going clothes shopping this coming Saturday to prepare for an upcoming trip. He has a suit, but other than that, all his clothes are jeans and tees. For this trip, we are looking for: casual button down shirts (oxfords or plaids), non-jeans/non-khaki trousers, a sport coat or blazer, and some shoes that fall in between the New Balance sneakers he usually wears and the nice black shoes he wears with his suit. Sizes and price range below the cut. [more inside]

Flatiron Building History

Last weekend, I found out that my boyfriend's grandmother worked in my office building 57 or so years ago, for about six months, as a secretary for "the first sofa bed company in the United States." (It was their showroom.) Now, the Flatiron offices are entirely occupied by two companies, but then, it held many different small businesses. How can I find out where in the building her office was located? I'd love to take her there sometime so she can see it again.
