Any suggestions for events or activities in Berlin between 30 December and 2 January, especially New Years Eve? I'm ideally looking for the burner, hippie, artist, rave, etc. vibe that'll appreciate laser pants, but the burner groups haven't posted anything yet.

I’m currently based in Andalucía, Spain, teaching English for the school year, and am planning to visit neighboring France during Christmas vacation. France fascinates me and will be the first country I visit outside of Spain during my time in Europe, but to be honest: I know nothing. I have approximately 13 days to spend in the country, I would like to see Paris and a few other sites in the northwest, and I will probably enter the country on the Mediterranean coast (from Spain) and leave via the Basque Country (to return to Spain). What should I see?

You had an unforgettable experience watching the ball drop in NYC this past NYE. The thought of staying at home this New Year's makes you feel sad and depressed. Where in America do you ring in 2013?

I can't help but think ahead for New Year's. Last year, I stood for 20 hours in Times Square and was on the TV broadcast. It doesn't get any better than that. I want to do something again. Where should I go?

ResolutionFilter: I really want to start slowly adopting new, healthier habits. As it usually does, the inspiration has hit me just before New Years. But I don't want to make a resolution, I want to establish habits that I can keep. I've tried before, but here's where I always fall down: how do I make the new habits stick? They never actually make it to the "habit" stage for me.

There's a New Years gig in Manchester I'm looking at attending, and I thought I'd make a trip of it by visiting my sister in Bristol (amongst other things). However, flights from Australia to England are ridiculously expensive. Is there a way I could fly to another European country and take a cheap flight (or some other form of transport) over?
