Outlook mailing lists. I know how to set up group mailings via the distribution lists under File>New, but I'm not sure what the limitations are. I have a newsletter that needs to go out to hundreds of people. Is there a way to do this efficiently? Also how will my ISP/mail server handle the mass amount of emails? I know some will only allow x amount of emails at a time to prevent spamming. So would I have to set up some kind of scheduling where they go out at different intervals? [more inside]

I'm currently subscribed to, and wish to unsubscribe from, American Public Media's "Speaking of Faith" and "Writer's Almanac" e-mail newsletters. Neither APM's site nor the newsletters themselves seem to offer an unsubscribe function. I even e-mailed APM several months ago to request that I be removed from their mailing list, but haven't heard back. Short of adding APM to my ISP's or mail client's spam filter, how can I stop these newsletters?

moneyfilter! I have a website that I started a while back hoping to "monetize". Well, I got lazy, and gave up. I was going to start a newsletter in conjunction with the site and never got around to it. But someone found the site, and the newsletter sign up page, and wants to distribute it to their clients (it relates to their brick and mortar business). The company seems legit. Can I turn this into a business opportunity? [more inside]

Does anyone have a good mailing list company to recommend for a big weekly e-mail newsletter? I send a plaintext e-mail newsletter to a mailing list of 25,000 or so double-opt-in subscribers - mailing them 10-15k of plaintext every week or two - and my current host of several years - Sparklist - is giving me billing trouble. My hosting fee used to be less $100 a month and now they're charging $500 or more. I'm looking for a new company to send out the list, give me a control panel to add and remove subscribers, and give a price closer to $100/month than $500. [more inside]

Hi I would like to send email newsletters to my clients (about 100) and would like to do it all in-house. Are there good programs or tools to do this. If possible, I would like to know who reads it (I know ... privacy) by using images? / some sort of tracking if possible. Any ideas?

I have been hired to layout a newsletter for print and for publication online. There is an editor who compiles the articles, edits for length, and etc. In this situation, who should be responsible for the copy editor duties? I find that it is a pain to finish the layout and then hear back from the editor that there are several spelling, punctuation, and line break mistakes that need to be corrected (which is generally hard to do in DTP software). Is it unreasonable of me to expect that the copy-editing should be done by the editor and not the layout person?

Expanding on Lairbob's question -- I work for a small nonprofit, and we are being more and more fequently asked by our membership when we're going to start sending out an email newsletter and email event alerts. Can you suggest a range of good programs to use that would be a) dirt cheap for a 501(c)(3) organization b) able to handle a volume of several thousand emails easily and c) have a web interface?
